It still doesn't change the fact that there are already vanity items behind a pay-wall.

your happy meals analogy makes no sense, we're not talking about the value of an item here.

Physical merchandise doesn't need bonus in-game items either, it is not necessary at all.

Physical merchandise or not, there are people who buys it only for the bonus item and not for the physical merchandise, so how is it different from outright paying money for the "bonus" and not receiving a physical item? is the physical item here the crucial factor? and if all micro-transactions came with a physical item, all's good now?

It's called bonus for a reason. You're not buying the minion. If people choose to buy the merchandise for its bonus, that's their own choice, and not the indended sale.

Certainly, I was merely questioning the argument from some, that players who pays a sub are entitled to every single content in the game, which in this case, it obviously isn't but yet those same group of players are apparently OK with it, I just felt that perhaps it was a flaw in their argument.

and based on the replies and what i understand here, i've devised a solution to this micro-transaction fiasco...

Simply release all micro-transaction vanity items as bonuses of physical merchandise, sell a Sleipnir figurine at $49.99 and it comes with an in-game Sleipnir mount, buy a FF14 Wedding catalogue book for $49.99 and get a Gold wedding plan ticket etc
