I agree, food in its current state is not worth using. Not only can you not tell what it does, the boost it gives is minimal at best.

Do you expect to use a piece of food that's 1k and get HP+500 and STR+50?

The food system is exactly like XI. It works perfectly fine.

Why complain about this?

Why not complain about how the DEX+4 on your haubergeon isn't giving you 100% accuracy?

Or why the attack+5 on your neck piece isn't making you kill the mob in 1 hit?

Heck no it doesn't. It's overly complicated to the point no one really uses it. Though the easy fights also contribute to that.

There's optimal rank in food, races, favorite food, etc. It's overly complex.
