Where is your counter to TP not being displayed?

Gonna take the SE limitation / too much info or learn to play player route?

Your snide remark aside - Like FFXI TP value is also fed to our client but isn't displayed, so it was indeed SE's choice to not have it displayed on our UI. I'm sure you think it's a PS3 limitation though.

Alerting PT members your TP isn't really a concern anymore in XI. TP in XIV is much different than an XI system of building it. Your past practice point is rather weak in reference to this game and also it's faster paced battle system with TP having greater importance.

You cannot deny the truth that the memory limitations of the PS3 are holding back how many active UI objects can be displayed. It's all been said, just not in big bold letters and simple English. Which is the question I even asked for the Live Letter to be more specific and knew wouldn't be answered.

You can't even call me ignorant about it so much.

As I even suggested on this forum to give the player the option to display what they need for the UI and set a system limit of how many elements can be displayed based on the resources they require.

But by all means continue to label my comments.

Fact is that this is the only MMO that I know of where even a damn city is divided in two parts with loading screens. That is just ridiculous. I don't think anyone asked for that.

Changed from PS3 to PS4, and never looked back. My 3 would lag, freeze up, and generally make me suckage every time Titan moved. Save up for the PS4, it really is night and day.

PS3 is a piece of junk. It even screams in pain when you play because of how hard it's being pushed.
Mine would overheat and cause major rendering issues like Levi splash telegraphs being displayed half a second before he dove through. Instant movement abilities like Shoulder Tackle would go on cooldown but you could run up to the boss before the dash went off.
It also freezes if it undergoes too much stress (which is like, 30min of AFKing in revenant's toll followed up with your favorite 8man that vomits a load of pretty animations all over the screen).

They skimp on so much to make it PS3 compatible and it STILL struggles.
I honestly wouldn't recommend this game to someone if they were going to play it on a PS3.

oh yes, I forgot about hunts and world bosses... I'll just let you figure out why I forgot about them.

This is adorable. I can't actually believe people here are arguing if the PS3 is a limitation or not.

The Devs said they'll be dropping PS3 support sometime in the close future and will focus on the PC and PS4 too.

That, in itself, should be enough proof.

Google is your friend. Googled "Yoshi P interview drop ps3" and it was the very first link, and I'm pretty sure this isn't the only interview where it was mentioned.

    http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...p_features_of/

Relevant portion extracted for the lazy. This was an English translation of a Japanese language interview.

    Regarding future of PS3 version:

Do you plan to continue to support the PS3 version even after the PS4 version is released?
Y: At this moment, we've already begun work on the expansion pack, and I can tell you that at the very least the PS3 version will be supported up to that point.

Does that mean there's a possibility that PS3 users will no longer be able to continue playing beyond that expansion?
Y: It may be a possibility in the future.

How far off in the future are we talking about here?
Y: That will depend on how long people continue to play on the PS3. I've mentioned in the presentation this morning that I want to make sure that "FFXIV continues to innovate", and there's certainly the possibility that whatever innovation we seek will come with certain technical requirements. For example in EQN, which I mentioned earlier, it would not be possible to realize certain things like physic-based gameplay without meeting the hardware prerequisites. So if this becomes something that players want and we start to see people leave for rival products, then we can't just sit around twiddling our thumbs either. After all, we too need to ensure we have the necessary weapons to take on other MMORPGs in the future.
For example, if we were to have a large-scale FATE where players can ride on a flying mount and freely fly around and swoop down at a dragon that is 200 meters long, players would probably be impressed and entertained. However, it would also require us to raise the minimum requirement when it comes to hardware specs.
Our aim has always been to develop the game so that players can have the same experience no matter which hardware they play on. However, if we were to become too fixated on this and become unable to innovate, then this will cease to be a FF game. So I do not plan to say that we will support the PS3 version forever. At the same time, I'm not saying that we'll be ending support by next year or anything like that either, so don't worry.
As we keep saying they've already said they are evaluating this stuff. The ps3 will loose support eventually. The question isn't if. Its when.
