A few of us PS3/PS4/DSX users have issue with the way party members are targeted through use of the d-pad. For those of you who feel this way, I humbly submit the following for critique.

Am I missing something? It appears to take up space on your crossbar, but otherwise work exactly the same as the d-pad. Seems pointless.

I would guess you miss that with this config you can just hold R1/R2 and do your thing, never have to toggle the bar for the basic skills.
Don't play on gamepad so can't say if good or not.

The thing is, you dont have to use the d-pad at all for party targeting/cycling. This enables 3 key things:

1. On the standard controller setup movement and party targeting afe both accomplished on the left side of the gamepad, so it is difficult to move and target at the same time. This customization removes that obsticle, so you can move (left thumb) and target (right thumb) naturally.

2. On the standard controller setup, you must deactivate your hotbar to enter party targeting mode, then reactivate to cast. This leads to errors (wrong shoulder button pressed, slowdowns for wrong target or higher priority target changes, wrong hotbar). Since the layout of this customization never changes, and you are only required to toggle between r/l shoulders, the opportunity for error is much less.

3. No more "soft targeting". I know a lot of folks like this feature, and more power to you. However, I know there are control freaks out there like me who domt like the system toggling their target back automatically, this customization enables exactly this. And really, with a 2.1+s cast time for 90% of spells, there's really no reason to save time here.

TL;DR. SE cold have bothered to put in a better method of player targeting. They didnt. I'm attemping to rectify that.

Did you put a macro into a macro ? Or did you make the macro switch hotbars because for 8 people that would take up every single hotbar which would be a big waste lol

all 8 hotbars. and no, it wasn't a waste. if it wasnt 100% successful, it would have been a waste.

when they introduce a macro-swap macro (discussed at length elsewhere on these forums) i will incorperate it, and a lot of folks who currently use hotbar swaps for justabout everything will rejoyce.
