Same. Just enjoy the cut scenes as best you can and then later redo the battle for the fights. Sorry they ruined your experience but it happens to everyone.

Not mine lol cuz 7/8 of the party was new and cuz it was in the 1st week of release.
That 1st month since release was the best as most ppl in df parties were new and watched the cs.
Good times goooooood times.

^same.
I dont mind waiting for cs and what not, but really, if you dont make a group with friends most ppl aren't gonna wait.
When I used to duty roulette Praetorium I'd do my best to let the new folks watch cutscenes, which worked out sometimes since I typically run as tank. I got tired of it though, especially since the impatient ones would take it out on me. Sorry you had your experience ruined, OP, I did as well, and that was near the time the game had just came out too.
I personally think the cutscenes should be forced in duty roulette. If people are queueing for duty roulette main scenario, they know exactly what they're getting themselves into. If they don't want to watch cutscenes, or wait for people that do, they shouldn't be doing the main scenario roulette in the first place.
Kinda feel bad for new players now, only time you got a slow-paced run and got to appreciate the cutscenes together were back in Aug/Sep 2013.

Not everyone. I pull a party group together to control tanks and healing for praetorium so that it cannot be forced. Typically the effort results in a full group of 8 that doesn't mind watching the cut scenes again.
Everyone else gets warned on the onset that the majority of the party is letting our new players enjoy the experience.

A FC mate recently got to the end of the 2.0 story.
So two of us went as healers to help him through it. We did this intentionally so we would stay behind with our buddy so he can watch cutscenes and such. Without any healers the rest of the party could do minimal rushing at best.

^Yes! Did this with a friend and helped a new player through it. Stood before the Boss (while the new player(s) watched the Cutscenes) with our arms crossed like bosses just wanting to see if the Tank and the Party had the balls.A FC mate recently got to the end of the 2.0 story.
