A3: With the mudra combinations, ninja is a job where it’s tricky to deal damage, and we’ve set their DPS to be somewhat higher than other jobs. However, players have really been pushing ninja to the limit, and while it’s only by a slight percentage, DPS is being output a bit higher than anticipated. Due to this, in order to make their DPS output similar to other jobs, we will be making adjustments to DPS and the TP costs of certain actions, while ensuring that the current rotation is not destroyed.
I'm happy to see the adjustments to dragoons! It is cool job and I planned to gear it up a little more and do its animus, just like with monk... But... Geez... Was it really necessary to nerf ninja?... It is correct that of all the trials and t4 stuff that I did with my ninja it was the most common thing to see it top in the aggro lines, but few times it happened that a DRG or MNK, or... Even! A BLM was in top and above my nin. I don't think it was really necessary to lower its DPS, at least in PvE, in PvP there's a lot of whiny people, seems.

It is a bit needed. Ninja offers a lot of utility to a group that brings them, and as the potential to out DPS all but MNK (and even MNK in certain situations). There are a lot of players that are able to unlock this potential and do numbers that are a bit too high. But do not worry, I doubt the average ninja will notice any change.

We...well... It seems pretty obvious there... But... It happened in Garuda HM and Moogle few times, I rarely check aggro of adds, just big stuff ^^ '....

And.. Perhaps only a 5% of ninjas do that amount of high DPS... As you said, average won't see much difference but... It feels just wrong to cap-nerf the max potential of something, using the max potential is what incentives noobs like me!

I'll always look forward to use the most difficult or hard DPS to maximize, especially if you gain a noticeable amount of DPS by your efforts... I for example liked BLM because its easiness, there are not so many things you have to care when using it, and it is super damn easy to use until the point that 25% of them are super maxed and being brutal (The other 75% I wonder why does really have so low performance in such a job.) That easiness kills the fun and make it less attractive in my opinion.

Then your just following the current flavour of the month, which is fine and all, so just shift to whatever the next flavour is. I see in your signature you play all jobs. Cool, so if you don't find Ninja fun anymore just play something that you do find fun. Monk has usually been on the top, so you could play Monk if thats the reason you decided to play ninja in the first place =)

Well, indeed, before ninja I have to say that my favorites DPS, even though I still liking all classes (DPS with tank or healers is awesome too)
were BLM and MNK, but MNK the favorite because, as I said, it is not the same to do the max damage with a BLM than with a MNK...

Seeing that DRG won't require anymore of positionals to apply the combo buffs and stuff will make it easier, but to be honest, I like it because most of the failures in positional hits were because tanks suddenly moving, or random moves of enemies... It will be just like monk now, if you fail a positional, well, a bit less of damage, but not failing all the damn combo...

Said this, I think I'll enjoy DRG a lot more now, perhaps my route will be try to maintain geared up NIN, MNK, DRG, because melee are art..

But damn, it makes it difficult with that neft, I mean, I love having two damn crazy lightsabers, nexus looks awesome, Ninja is like DRG in that sense, super cool... But it lacks of AoE in my opinion, if they nerf the amount of damage you make with a NIN to a single target it is a pain, because it is the only thing they had, AoE is very limited option, (yes, you can use doton, use some powered critical katon and all that, but MNK and DRG also have free-AoE attacks, and more AoE power-wisely with their TP options.

I always had the thought of "Well, NIN is the specialist in one vs one, MNK is the following but having better AoE, way better, and DRG is the... Well, the middle in everything"

To be honest, when they did some adjustments to jobs in 2.4... I really, REALLY thought, they'd nerf monk.... Seeing that not, I had the hope it wouldn't happen the same with NIN.
