I actually sort of wish there was more time between content updates. lol
Between my main and alts, it's a tad difficult to keep up with more than just poetic cap.

I'm...on the fence usually about the game being boring. I find it boring because it's a tomestone grind the newest dungeons get dull. So I find other things to grind for gear. And then that's done...
I'm not interested in hardcore crafting nor beastmen quests...so that's not gonna cover it.
And before someone mentions how I still have four fighting jobs to level (one of which being NIN) and the other crafting, yeah, those are the jobs I least want to level. So when everything is mostly done except for those jobs...then I decide that other games are better. Add to that that the jobs have to be leveled in the same goddamn dungeons as my other 50's and I'm finding it hard to motivate myself to go into them.
And as for crafting, I just don't feel like it adds anything to my game aside from the incessant need to farm Ixali beastmen stuff, which I'm super not into because it's the worst type of grind ever.
I just think the update model as it stands right now isn't very attractive for long time investment between patches. Shiva EX was a disappointment. At least Ramuh EX kept people busy with how difficult he was... Shiva's a joke.

Nah it offers enough challenges to keep me on my toes.

Not really bored, but the current set up of dungeons and gear treadmill isn't really what I am too big into. Mostly looking forward to Chocobo breeding, Gold Saucer and seeing more interesting side content. I have kept up with capping poetics but I can't say I am really too fond of dungeons after the first couple runs.
I'm mostly staying around because of my FC and hopes for that future content, though I've mostly been disappointed with their implementation of a lot of the things I had interest in seeing.

If it's become boring, take a break, play another game, pick up another hobby? New content will come out soon enough. Every game has its limits.

I don't want to say I'm bored with the game, because that would be untrue, but I won't deny that it has stagnated a bit.
This game has all become about the grind.
It's no longer about what's fun content, or what's a nice diversion from the usual whack-a-mole, but is now about spamming endless dungeons and raids for gear and tomes. All for that new shiny upgrade which will be made redundant in a few months time. THAT, dear community, is truly what the problem is with the game.
We have daily beastman quests, which are essentially the same four missions repeated ad infinity. We have daily roulettes, which are again all about progression. We have the brick wall that is the crafting system, forcing you to endlessly meld expensive materia and watch it fail over and over until you get the 'perfect' stats necessary to actually reach the next tier. For me, the latter was really the last straw. They added a ton of gear, but only at the highest level and requiring stupid amounts of rare items to craft. There's still no real 'progression', you're either max-melded or you're bottom tier. And yes, I do have my artisan tool.
I hate comparing FFXI since they're very different games, but it does have a lot of things right. For a start, gear is unique and tailored. There's none of this rubbish "equip X item or you suck", but more like "equip X item for this type of content". Instead of wearing a level 120 armor piece and feeling superior, I could wear a robe which improves my healing potency, or a cloak which gives me mana regeneration. At later levels, perhaps even both!
Here, it's the same few BORING stats on every piece. Do I want crit or spell speed? Do I care enough to make a distinction since that measly +27 doesn't seem at all noticeable in a real fight? Do I want Parry or Skill Speed? It sort of robs the fun of getting a new piece of gear when every single one is the same as the last in terms of practical use.

Gone are the days of dozen of different stats and versatility. Games are now streamlined to cater to clueless beginners to the genre, casuals with low free time and to reduce production costs / time to develop stuff.
If you expect every major patch to deliver more content, you're gonna have to wait 6 months + for that. Imo it's better to just wait 3-4 months and get something.
I for one would love different stats... And different upgrades options instead of this vertical path. The game's still fairly decent, it's an MMORPG so yeah. I couldn't find any other better than this one.

Never works out. In FFXI, for example, you had all the possibilites in the world and still everyone wore the same because there is always going to be the best equipment and that is obviously what everyone wants. The only reason XI had more diversity regarding builds between players was because the good stuff was retarded to get (could easily go six months looking for a specific item), but if things were as accessible as they are here everyone would have been wearing the same stuff, regardless of the many options they had.
I rather have a game with a hell load of stuff to do then knowing that probably in 5 months or so you'll be done with it and have it shelfed for life . I got ffxiii to platinum plus nothing left to do plus same with FFXII all 100% . I wish these games where mmos.
Lesson of the day : ffxiv is not for casual players.
