still very much lots to do but some days i wonder ....
RNG just has been too much for me as of late (well a build up of bad rng for pretty much many aspects, starting with atma)
And does every new content have to have fates involved or delivery type quests
I do still enjoy it however

You have 2 level 50 jobs, no gathering classes leveled and 1 crafting class at 16. I can see how you think the game is boring because it doesn't look like you do much at all.

Wait whut? I took an extended break came back and farmed 22 alex in like six days. You can easily farm 2 a day if not three or four.

The only thing that I feel bored with is the relic quest. I have WHM Nexus, SCH Novus and would love to get my BLM and NIN Novus. However, allllllllllllll that work for 2 weapons, just so that they're i110 weapons that I already have.

Then, with the possibility, the relic quest is ending next patch, I keep thinking, "what is the point?"

While that's a valid point, we should be honest with ourselves about what doing these other jobs really means. I'm capped everything and really don't think it adds much to the game. Same with doing multiple Nexus relic upgrades. I used to always max-gear every job and grind out their relics to the max current level but aside from eating up a massive chunk of our time, what does it do for us? Not saying some people don't get enjoyment out of it but the jobs all play very similarly and the gear/content locks inhibit our ability to gear secondary/tertiary jobs any higher than one tier below the current one. It's doable, if you grind FCOB with multiple accounts, but again one'll probably never use the job for anything where they're like "zomg soooo glad I did this." I enjoyed the NIN job quest storyline but leveling the job itself grated me on account of it not feeling terribly different from any other job and there being no new content to level it in.

My sentiment as well. Another thing that most people don't take into consideration about the relic issue is how relic owners have been a foundational element of making DF work for a long time now. If it wasn't for Atma, pre-hunts, the outside world would have still been totally dead. How many endgame players who only need to run Expert to cap tomes would go through random low level dungeons if it weren't for Animus? Then there's Nexus stage ensuring a healthy Trial queue time from now until forever. Then, in thanks, you get a weapon that's BiS for a few weeks with the threat of it being trashed down the road.

I can understand and relate. I'm a bit tired of what I have been doing and the other aspects of the game I haven't done aren't screaming for my attention tbh. Sure I'm leveling some new classes and crafting for a change but I feel like exactly where I was at the start if 2.2. New coil new gear item level... Guess what I'm doing for the next 3 months? I'm just going to limit my playtime I think and casually cap poetics (or get close), work on leveling crafting a bit (I don't love it) and move through coil at a relaxed pace with the FC until I get the urge to go back in full swing.

It's enough to keep me subbed and playing regularly but maybe not hours every day.

Game has been boring for me and a majority of my guild members for awhile now. It is why turn over has been bad. it is hard to keep people playing FFXIV due to extreme bordom. Most endgame focused guild I talk to are down players this patch. Turn over in XIV is 5-6xs higher then XI and WoW had. And this is purly SE's fault. There simply is not enough to do at endgame to keep someone playing over 10hrs a week happy, especially if they been playing since 1.0 or at 2.0 launch.

I honestly cannot think of a mmo that has less to do at endgame.

The gear/content treadmill does not work when you have 1 raid (if you can even call it that) and 1 primal fight that is relevant every patch. If they want to keep this pure linear style of content. Release 3-4 raids and 5+ primal style fights per patch cycle at the min. And for the love of god make something for guilds to do in this game. Guilds are what endgame in mmos are about.... this game has 0 guild content currently.

Nothing is worse then having to pay $15 a month to run in circles around Uldah or your housing area because that is the most productive thing to do ingame.

I have Second Coil cleaned out, Shiva barely has any incentive to be run, I do FCoB 2-3 times a week. Other than that it's log on, maybe try and hit cap by forcing myself through those 3 God awful dungeons, and then log out. There's nothing cooperative or productive you can do with a group aside from "cooperatively" hitting cap together or attempting the latest progression battles, when I'm not doing that I just loiter around Ul'Dah like most people I know because really nothing more interesting is going on outside the city walls so why even go out there. The only thing I have to look forward to every patch is whatever the 1-2 "end game" instances they throw in like Ramuh or CT/ST (If you can even call those end game...) since inevitably Coil is the only instance SE thinks people who are at the cutting edge of the end-game deserve and everything else in the 6 month period between Coils is just catch-up or casual content.

To be honest... I always say there's tons of things to do in this game, and I still stand by that. The only problem is that pretty much all of it became pretty boring to me, personally. Grinding for gear - I dunno what for, since those of us who have been playing from the start (or even before) are well above the ilvl needed even for the latest batch of story/side content; and I personally am never gonna set foot in the at-time-current endgame raid (which right now is FCoB), heck I haven't even beaten Twintania yet, and quite frankly even double the ilvl required doesn't help with content such as Titan Ex which is mostly a chain of instant death mechanics. I guess I could say I can grind for glamours, but my inventories are already full, and the actual glamour pieces don't come from dungeons/raids/trials anyway (and with the arbitrary overcomplication of the glamour system, I'm not even sure it's worth the hassle). Relic weapons? The way things are, I'm lucky if I can get one to Nexus, while at the same time already having weapons of higher ilevel that were easier and faster to get. PvP is so marginal and insignificant that even if I was interested in it, I'm not sure I'd care much for it in this game. Crafting and gathering? To get that anywhere above one star is just mind-bogglingly insane, it's even worse than atma was until very recently, and really: what's the point? Vanity gear that's lv1 and should be accessible to all as such, or high-end pieces that are incredibly rare/difficult to make and thus extremely expensive so not many will buy it either (especially considering that equivalents can be obtained far more easily). Housing...yeah, that would've been a nice thing, the one I've meant to spend most of my time and energy on without considering it a waste...but, again as things are, I still couldn't buy the house I wanted, I'm not even halfway to having enough just for the plot, and I'm not even sure there still is one such plot available...and as we learnt, there are no plans to add more plots. So yeah it would have been a nice thing to work for, but the way it came to realise in the game, I might as well just wave goodbye to it, and everything else tied to it as well.

I do love the world and whatever's in it. I just don't feel like I have anything to play for - granted, soloing does not help either, but what's there to do when you can't find people to play with because everyone's engrossed in the things described above that are basically out of reach for you?.....

ON A SIDENOTE, WOULD SOMEONE KINDLY DISABLE THIS BLOODY CHARACTER LIMIT ALREADY I'M LITERATE AND LIKE TO EXPRESS MYSELF THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
