Guess we reached the 100th thread on this, congrats.
Also awesome speculation, totally valid since they already added so many gameplay restrictions to the cash shop, right?..
They after us man..

Well aren't you a real hoot at parties?
That's how you DO a collectible card game that exists on its own. Do you pay a monthly fee for hearthstone or magic or whatever? No, because you only pay for packs. This one exists as part of a larger MMO that already has a monthly fee. Adding triad cards/packs into the cash shop is starting to cross the line into p2w, something they "said" they were going to avoid.I refuse to begrudge them anything if they decide to have triple triad cards/packs in the cash shop. I mean...that's how you DO a collectible card game. I'd actually be more surprised if it WASN'T in the cash shop.
I am telling everyone this now: Triple Triad will have portions in the cash shop. It is unavoidable, it WILL happen if the game gets added.
If you don't like that, quit now.
unless they just kept it to this

If the card game was to a depth of a full featured game (not mini game, tetra master in FFIX was not "full featured" but still fun) then a well thought out and fair system for the shop could work. I'd be concerned that you can win in game content vs other players that would likely require purchases though, if anything is won it shouldn't be a cash shop packed into a cash shop (say vs npc who have a static difficulty that you can reasonably work up to). Also hype and advertisement should let this be known sooner than later and hopefully be something like a game that can be played within ARR and without (being only available in ARR means you pay to pay to play, p2p2p? duh heck? lol).
Going to be something special in the forums.. and just in general if it is a semi featured game with a fully featured cash shop packed twice (pay for content to then use to win content only available to the paid content) exclusively available within the game. xD
Tbh I really don't see why people are looking forward to these additions, or to weddings. To me, it's always seemed like tired anti-content drawing dev attention away from their developing content-content in a game with a content problem. Pretty blatant cash-grab from the start with likely minimal relevence. This is becoming a AAA title trying to double-dip FP2 style earnings in a P2P model.
Has the Gold Saucer tokens being in the cash shop been confirmed? If so, this might be enough for me to unsub. If I have to spend any money beyond the subscription to unlock content in the game, that's where I cross the line. I am NOT buying Canadough from Beelzaboot!
What comes to Tripe Triad i think we get both options, CS boosters for lazy peoples that wants cards asap and the free "gind" version via playing/collecting them as an drop(?). As long as all cards are possible to get without spending a dime i dont mind booster packs for slackers, as collecting cards via winning is more satisfying than getting them from RNG boxes.

In FFXIV its just a "minigame"... not the big deal to compare with heathstone or magic the gathering...
If they stick to the original theme of Triple Triad we have to collect them through content (fights) and it will be possible to lose them in pvp card matches, so my conclusion is:
a) We will get a consumable cash shop item which prevent losing the card even when we lose the match, the winner takes the card, but we will not lose it (some protection)
b) Those who do not win against hard content can buy those cards from cash shop
But i share the same fear you all have and looking at history i am sure SE will mess up this time AGAIN...
