the NPC said it at the beginning of the fiery fall quest and i dont think anyone noticed it. something about ul'dahs sister city under the sadn called sihl'da i wonder if that has anything to do with a new area coming.

Ul'dah also used to be a massive forest...NPC's say alot of things. If anything I can't imagine the "Underground" city faired too well considering all the Antlings roaming the place.
I hope a lot of new sub city's pop up as we move on, lots of npc's very little housing, Cant be good for the economy that, unless your a landlord anyway.
(even if we cant get to them, be nice to see them in the distance)
yeah I read up on that from the quest... interesting stuff perhaps some new dungeon material?
It would be great to see Sihl'da be used not only for an instanced dungeon, but maybe also for storyline purposes, whenever the Ul'dah storyline picks up again.
Sihl'da's really got me intrigued for sure!
If you do the Miner Quest line, you get more information on Sil'dah. SPOILERS
Way back before the great flood, there was a city in Northern Thanalan called Sil'dah. It being in almost the middle of Aldenard, it was in a pretty vulnerable position during the Eorzean Wars (when all the city-states were fighting each other for rulership). A big battle occurred and the city was destroyed. The civilians that were still living became refugees, and once the sixth umbral era came and washed everything away and turned Thanalan into a desert, the Sil'dahns travelled as far south as they could and founded the city of Ul'dah. And so, the ruins of Sil'dah were forever buried under the desert.
I'm pretty sure thats how it went, but this is just what i've pieced together from NPCs telling me stuff, so I could have it wrong.
So then it's more of a parent city than a sister city?
Pretty sure this city is gone based on the stuff said in the miner's storyline quest.
I was skipping over the text when I logged in and started the event but that bit of dialog caught my eye. Damn, it would be pretty neat to eventually be able to explore Sil'dah.
Pretty much correct. I loved that storyline.
And how our darling Neneko, daughter to the Miner's guildmaster, has become an archeologist to uncover its secrets. So we may yet see more on this city.
