Does FFXIV support 21:9 aspect ratio monitors?

Thinking about buying a new ultra widescreen monitor. Anyone know if FFXIV supports these resolutions?

    thanks in advance.

Yes it does, and like the poster above, it is glorious, and the bonus is, all 21:9 screens are IPS.

I am considering getting a 3440 x 1440 monitor. IM not an Fps nazi but I want to be able to run it with high enoug settings to take advantage of dx11 when it rolls out. What video cards are you guys running with these monitors and at what settings and Fps? I'm trying to figure out what vid card to get as I only play ffxiv on my px.

might annoy you when you try to go above 1080 so allow me to help(since it annoyed me for a bit as well). you have to play in borderless window mode for anything above 1080p. you have to go into windowed mode, manually change your resolution and then switch to borderless(unless you like windowed in which case power to you i guess).

amd cards are alright, i used to have a 7950. they run hot and use more electricity but have other purposes such as lite/bit/etc coin mining. nvidia cards are better usually cost less for the dollar to graphics ratio and have better driver support. for 3440x1440p you're going to want at least a 780ti. though those are discontinued and sell for higher these days i think. go for a 9xx series and you'll be fine.

The reason I was thinking I would make the switch to an amd card is that in all reviews that do various resolutions I have rate state that at higher resolutions the amd cards gain a significant advantage. I was considering a single Gtx 970 but a lot of people I talk to are saying a single 970 won\\'t be enough still at that Rez and from everything I\\'ve read Nividia in sli is too buggy with ffxiv to run it well.

I run at 2560x1080 which is the entry level 21:9 at full screen with no issues at all and always keep to 60 FPS and never drop below.

However I have downsampled from 3440x1440 before, and I can easily give you some impressions here, I am running with a 3570K at 4.2 GHz and run a Nvidia 780 3GB card, in 8 man battles at res 3440x1440 I drop to around 45 FPS using mostly max settings, all settings maxed for grouped content though.

I must iterate though, I am running with a DVI cable which actually doesnt handle 3440x1440 at 60 FPS, get a display port cable. 780 ti class cards is whats needed but the high end AMD gpus like the 290 X are better at higher resolution or rather, sustain its performance.

    .
And the Gtx 970 is better than the 780ti? I\\\\\\'m having trouble understanding why it\\\\\\'s so much more expensive if it\\\\\\'s an older card. I would PREFER to stick with the Nividia cards but I want to be sure it\\\\\\'s playable with high settings. Not necessarily maxed but I want to be close to maxed. If your having dips like that now I think maybe the amd xfired would be better for my application as the dx11 update will take even more of a toll

Also my mobo is from 2010 so it is only pcie 2.0 and it only runs xfire as x8/x8 will either of these affect my setup? I've read that pcie 3.0 supposedly doesn't even make much of a difference yet because it can't be fully utilized.
