...ladies and gentlemen, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!
Yeah it sucks that dragoon is the only melee dps class that has threat reduction skill. I don't know how many times as monk I've pulled off mediocre tanks in CT and duty roulette which made my dps plummet. Range dps don't have to worry about this since they can quell in the beginning with no dps loss.
That chart was all shades wrong. No Dragoon would ever be top DPS because the vast majority of them of them would be on the ground... dead.
Initially, the developers think within their own little box, which is why developers will get surprised when players use classes in a manner that they did not expect. It happens (had happened & will continue to happen) in MMOs plenty of times. So, when that happens, they go back and recreate it, even creating ideal scenarios for that happens, and they base their findings off of that.
Then classes get tweaked, players adapt to the changes or move on to the next Face Roll Class.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
The part about this update that has me surprised the most is how many people honestly did not see this ninja nerf coming, I mean, wow. I knew this job was getting nerfed after I saw the patch notes before we could even log in :x
More important than the Ninja nerf though, stoneskin 2!!!! wohoooooooooooo
Like me and many other people said already Ninja isn't even top dps in the current version the top dps still goes to monk. People will go back to stacking 2 monks for their melee slots if ninja is nerfed so much. The part about this update that has me surprised the most is how many people honestly did not see this ninja nerf coming, I mean, wow. My Ninja is only level 43 but I don't think it's really hard to memorize them. If anything, the easy way to memorize Ninjutsus is based on whether it's a 2 or 3-string combo, and which one you end with, without any repetition. Since I unlocked the 2 strings, I have never used Fuma Shuriken so I won't take that into consideration. The only thing that makes it "hard" if any, is the Mudra lag (which they addressed as something that cannot be looked at at the moment).
Ninjas do not have any additional enmity generation on their skill, so to nerf their enmity generation is to nerf their DPS.
I do not play Monk, nor do I really do or know anything about Final Coil, but I don't believe Dragon Kick debuff stacks. It really doesn't make sense to stack Monks because Ninja can still provide Vulnerability Up via Trick Attack, and still has utility over double stacking Monks (ie. Goad, Ninjutsus). Their DPS won't be nerfed out of the water, but will probably be just toned down a little. It won't really bring about the end of the job.
The reason you take a second monk is so that one can go bonkers with his DPS since the other Monk will Dragon Kick and he can bootshine instead.I do not play Monk, nor do I really do or know anything about Final Coil, but I don't believe Dragon Kick debuff stacks. With Monk being the best ST DPS it's actually a huge thing and already worked in the old coils.
I guess at this point the only thing going for Ninjas is the utility of Trick Attack, Goad, and really just how much lower their DPS is. I really do not think it's going to be so low that nobody will use the class in FCoB, nor totally invalidate them as a DPS class, as this thread is making it sound to be.
Player
(Pauvre Dragoons not even considered after update already, oh lawd)
