Looks like I was too late! Sorry Zedd.
There are a few thigh high boots I can wear but I'm really talking about socks.
I can post pictures of some irl guys that look delicious in thigh highs and skirts to dispute, not to mention that knee highs and kilts (essentially skirts) are totally a thing for certain countries. edit: read more and the brainwashing is killing me. If you hadn't noticed, men used to wear tights and heels and preen themselves like birds of paradise then guess what happened? Society got stuck on the weird notion that if you were male and you put effort into your appearance you were gay. King Louis XIV (hehehe) of France even designed his own fancy shoes.

Yes I must have those gloves :3. Your character would be naked if you were on shiva. I'd have totally jacked this outfit, though purple would not look as great on my character as yours, but I have been busy fundraising gil to get my glamour onDarklight Gloves of Casting!

Eh, what do you mean I'd be naked? I do joke that I'm like Shiva's brother or something, his name would be Shiver. Go for it, it's an awesome outfit to run around in; I'm so happy they gave males the same option as the females instead of forcing us to wear some "masculine" version of these items. ^_^
OMG Nestama, you're standing in front of a house in the same place as our FC mansion!
I proposed a text command back like ten pages or something. /altfeet, /altlegs, /altbody, etc.

Yes, but those clothes were for the nobility. The common people used pants.edit: read more and the brainwashing is killing me. And then things like the french revolution happened, where everything that had to do with nobility got prohibited or you lost your head.
Skirt and Knee Socks present!
I see you admiring my fine hosiery, sir.
Now where did I put my spanner?

This thread has been going for 27 pages just fine, without you. No one is impressed by your willfully ignorant opinion of a video you didn't even watch, or that you have nothing relevant to say about the actual topic.
I have heard that pink was actually considered a masculine color, commonly associated with boys, up until as late as WW2 or some time around there..? But for whatever reason, things changed, and now most people would say pink is a "feminine" color and even object to a male wearing pink. There are probably a lot of people who assume it's always been like this, and that it's somehow the natural way of things. But that's fashion for you, a bunch of arbitrary nonsense that frankly I have little interest in or patience for.If you hadn't noticed, men used to wear tights and heels and preen themselves like birds of paradise then guess what happened? Society got stuck on the weird notion that if you were male and you put effort into your appearance you were gay. King Louis XIV (hehehe) of France even designed his own fancy shoes.
I think it's profoundly bizarre that we've come to this point, where it's currently considered so damn important that female armor in a video game maintain a certain level of sexiness or reveal a lot more skin than the male counterpart. Simply asking for an option to the contrary, or even acknowledging that this trend exists, routinely attracts belligerent comments.
I'll bet there is some alternate universe somewhere, in which all the video games have females wearing yellow ponchos and green sombreros. And then somebody made a funny cartoon about a character trying to find a blue poncho or another style of hat, and gets pages of hostile comments and accusations.

I've played the game long enough to remember when all the gear was equal for both genders.
Then they added the coatee set: Formal suit and pants for man, miniskirt with stockings and epic cleavage for woman.
Then they added the AFs: WHM: Men get bagy shorts, women get a mini-skirt that changes to panties depending on what you wear, DRG AF has the inexplicable belly window.
Then with 2.0 they relesed the mini-skirt starter RSE.
They've since added Ninja AF with the cleavage for women.
I was a bit disappointed with the coatee set and have become a bit more disappointed with each subsequent addition.
I suppose I was just spoiled coming from XI where there was a lot of the less "ooh, we can make these girls look slutty *giggle*" attitude that's common with other developers. I expected a bit more maturity, I guess.
Emphasizing femininity is perfectly fine. Females of all ages do that in real life as well, so what's the issue?I've played the game long enough to remember when all the gear was equal for both genders.

TIL Panty Shots are 'emphasizing femininity' not 'borderline creepy'
This game originally had a much more gritty, practical aesthetic (Avoiding the word 'realistic' because we ride chocobos and fight gods). My issue is not solely about the gender dimorphism it's also the other things that we lost when we ditched that aesthetic: goodbye realistic weapons and practical armour, hello glowy axes of doom larger than my character's torso and shoulderpads of epicness.
Damning with faint praise. I'd hope we set ourselves to a higher standard than that.In a previous post of mine I mentioned the Conan MMO, where women not only had 'stereotypical' armor but also pornstar proportions. Several Korean MMOS are especially guilty of this only following the anime porn angle. Heck, there's one where you can buy the option to be just plain old naked, no smallclothes at all!
