Um... what happened to the outrage for the cash shop?
Not too many seems to be upset that all previous annual event items are now exclusive to the cash shop.
Though, I'm still a bit upset that I forgot to buy my anniversary minions from the NPC vendor. I remember thinking about going to vendor to buy the Realm Reborn Red, but then thought it was a pointless item to take up inventory space.
I'm expecting it cost the same as the current minions, $5 per minion, as the current trend seems to be pushing vanity items onto the cash shop.
Most people ingame I talked to are leaning towards the free marriage with some who are minion collectors aiming for the premium if it's not too costly. The outrage ingame isn't really that big that i've seen. It's more of initial anger and then mehUm... what happened to the outrage for the cash shop?

Yeah, I rather indifferent about it too.
You could get a Draught Chocobo for sort of free-ish from the recruit a friend program.

I could see the cash shop being horrible for the late adopters of the game. Such as if a new player were to join now, and wanted all the previous annual event items, I'm expecting them to spend well $100 just in vanity items when the other seasonal event rolls around.
The previous set of Halloween items cost $19 in total for all of them. In a way, this is penalizing late adopters to cough up extra cash in terms of monthly subscriptions they would have been paying earlier, while not actually obtaining any value out of it but its vanity items.
For me, forgetting to grab the two anniversary minions, Wind-up Minfilia, Wind-up Thancred, isn't that bad. I'm a lazy collector, so it isn't like I need to have everything. I'd just like to grab and experience whatever is offered to me in the game.

Cash shop for cosmetic accessories and mounts is nothing new for pay to play MMORPGs.
People need to get over their false sense of entitlement considering that Square Enix releases a ton of content and a *minimal* part of it is sold for cash.
Pay for my sub in 6 month hits, due again in March, won't be renewing sub because of cash shop.
The defence of "its only vanity stuff it doesn't affect the game" irritates me immensely Vanity is a big part of the game for A LOT of people, part of the enjoyment of the game, so it most certainly does have an affect.
With this latest announcement, the game just feels tainted. I've played almost every day since launch on PS3, bought a PS4 pretty much because of FFXIV, and don't even feel like logging in now. Honestly breaks my heart this is happening.

Your heart is easily broken if a cash shop in a game, which is becoming the norm in the industry, breaks it. You may want to seek aid there.Pay for my sub in 6 month hits, due again in March, won't be renewing sub because of cash shop.

Which is why you have a TON of vanity items requiring no additional purchase.
To put it down simply, you're massively exaggerating, and you're not making any sense, and it sounds rather silly, to be honest.
For what I'm concerned, those that aren't willing to support the game by tolerating the existeance of a cash shop that they can completely ignore with no loss, and that will generate revenue which will be reinvested in the game, can take the door and never return. FFXIV will keep doing great with and without them.

Boycott the entire game, nah.
I'm not a fan of how much the cash shop charges for its items (and to a minor degree, the cash shop in general), so I haven't (and likely will never) bought anything from it. I'm not going to be bothered if other people do buy from it, since that's their choice and while I like some of the shiny items, I don't need them.
But I do enjoy the game far to much to boycott it, since I feel that SE are doing a fair job of entertaining content vs. how much I pay for the sub.
