So here's where we stand.

With the outrage expressed at the Eternal Bond system, a thought occurred to me. The reason the cash shop is successful is because it's sustainable for them. And SE won't remove something that provides additional income, even if it's at the cost of player satisfaction.

If too many people use it, it's sustainable. However, if the loss is greater than the gain, they will re-evaluate the sustainability of such a thing.

Even in the chance that we get enough people to boycott the game, the possibility of them going into a direction off worse than we'd intended could very well happen. I am telling you of this possibility so that you may make an informed decision.

Even so, I want to take a poll.

This is purely for data-gathering purposes. I humbly request you do not post if you defend their decision. I'd heard it all anyway, and agree on certain points.

I planned on having a in game marriage with my real life wife since we both played ffxi(since 2006) and now ffxiv(since2010). I consider myself and my family die hard fans of the series of games and the online ones. However I know for sure I will not be paying for the eternal bond system. As to if I keep the free one or just leave the game all together. It's something my family of 4 will decide together over the dinner table perhaps. We sub monthly to our beloved ffxiv but I truly do not think any of us want to keep seeing content pushed behind a pay wall. If we wanted that we buy other games and get there season passes. WE play this game cause it's a fixed payment, we all play together daily and there wasn't any strings attached till now. I just don't know for sure if we can keep subbing or not. This might be it. Have to really think on that.
