Yes, that works better. ;O You could also hold off on feet to see who gets the Dread ones first. There's also saving for weapon which I didn't include, but that depends on how quickly your group clears T11. PLD also has a shield purchase to consider if they have the Carboncoat. But yeah, planning your purchases with your co-tank is wise.
An interesting selection of responses. I don't think I could've asked for a broader set of opinions! :O
My goal is to better than yesterday.

I personally am not pushing FCoB atm, still working on finalizing SCoB. My purchase order so far has been, Shield > Head > Feet > Hands as those were the biggest jump in terms of ilvl and VIT/STR increases. My Lirica and Noct breeches still serve me well, when I have the tomes saved I will be replacing my lorica with the Ironworks chest, retainer will be happy lol.
As a PLD that defended the Noct Hoplon, don't discount parry. It has it's place with PLD.

Well, here's an opinion that hasn't been expressed quite yet: Poetics pieces for Tanks are fantastic for Accuracy. If you're progressing in the Final Coil, don't be afraid to get the Chest, Pants, Belt, or some of the Accessories to jump that Accuracy number up if you need it.
Additionally, there's not really too much harm in seeing a slot you bought drop in Coil when the Coil drop is a higher iLvl than the piece you purchased. It's just a smaller upgrade, and an upgrade is an upgrade either way!

My take on gearing is this; I'm a PLD first and foremost, though I also play NIN and WHM. So PLD gets first dibs on gear. WHM I consider my secondary, but it isn't so heavily gear-dependant so after PLD I gear NIN, then WHM.
PLD gets everything when it comes to weekly caps (poetics) before the others get anything. As a tank and a healer I'm very aware of what type of damage I'm taking in a fight, as well as the rest of the party. So when entering a new fight I always use my heaviest mitigation gear set for PLD. After a run or two, when I know what the damage is like, I may start swapping out Parry stats for Crit, etc. So when purchasing gear my priorities are the same regardless of any DR on defensive stats. Speaking as a healer, the easier it is to heal the tank, the more likely I'll be able to compensate for DPS mishaps and unexpected mechanics. As a PLD if I can stay alive, manage mechanics and control aggro then I'm pulling my weight, and gear adjustments are made in the best interest of the party (i.e, is healer struggling/are enraged timers not quite being met). To me this is more practical than an ultimate min/max set that's designed to meet the needs of the hardest content.

Lol at first I didn't even notice you doing the different emotions... Thanks for the laugh

Because missing, breaking your combo and losing aggro is a great way to raid!Secondary stats don't matter.
Pick what gives you the most VIT/STR.
If you're not pushing FCoB any time soon, you'll be getting a full Poetics set regardless so purchase order is just about what gives you the most bang for your buck.
The most choice you have is whether you'd like to go full VIT accessories, full STR accessories, a mix, or Ruby/Topaz melded with VIT/STR. Everything else is trivial. Some crafted gear can give you more effective STR at the cost of VIT (e: Also a bit of Physical DEF and Magic DEF) if melded correctly, but you'll need a comfortable amount of VIT before you start worrying about that.
Just buy whatever. Don't concern yourself with secondaries.
He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo
I roll Parry and accuracy on my paladin's Nexus. I welcome all the pary they added to the ironworks gear.
I thought I was speaking to people with common sense. Yes, accuracy matters, was not talking about accuracy... clearly... as it's literally the only secondary that is necessary and that's pretty much widely accepted. But yeah no I was definitely saying you shouldn't hit accuracy cap. Definitely.
Edit: Apologies, that was a bit overly aggressive. But c'mon man, you really think I'm condoning not hitting accuracy cap? I assumed the OP knew about that so I kinda figured he'd take "secondaries" as Parry/Det/Crit. I suppose my original post was a bit open-ended, so sorry for any confusion.
