As a summoner main I have no problem with this. It's a QoL thing. Think of how much time will be saved in ST, raids, and primals. The whm can stoneskin eight people at once instead of eight people individually. It's a convenience, not a game changing mechanic, which is what giving summoners more summons before expac would be.
