    Stone skin is there to mitigate nuke dmg. If not used for that or to Holy spam trash while SS eats 4 auto-attacks then no one needs it. :/ It's nice SE is putting it in I guess but it feels like SE was kind of giving in to what is bad practice in the first place.

    Stoneskin II - A missed opportunity.

    Why not make it possible to be used in battle and just quadruple the MP cost?

    Assuming the MP cost of Stoneskin II is 266; quadrupling it to 1064 MP would be sufficient considering that when you need to Stoneskin the entire party before incoming massive damage you're casting this 8 times. This means using 2128 MP, however you do get MP back during the process of casting it on everyone. Assuming you have at least 5000 MP on WHM your MP will refresh at a rate of 100/3sec and Stoneskin-ing everyone will take at least 24 seconds so after the process you'll only be down around 1328 MP. So that 1064 MP I suggested in my opinion fits pretty well and gives WHM a viable DMG mitigation tool.

    It's too bad that they have decided that Stoneskin II will only be of use before the fight begins. It really is a missed opportunity to enhance what some people think of as a boring healing class compared to what SCH can do. Maybe like the Raise trait, on the way to lvl 60 we'll get one for Stoneskin II to unlock its use during battle. I'd like to hope because hearing of Stoneskin II being AoE before reading the description they gave got me somewhat excited being a main WHM and now I'm just disappointed lol.

    People would feel cheated and envious of WHM getting the ability I described? An ability that helps the entire party in a fight.

    I'd like to hope it's not as you think, but if so those people that think this way need to grow up and break out of the "They got something so I want something!" childish attitude that probably is entwined in this community, sadly.

    Rogue has 18 skills versus the other classes only having 17 base skills. /riot

    Maybe if they increased the cost by 1,000% the ability to cast 8 stone skins in 3.5 seconds in battle is ridiculously OP

    It's mostly in this forum, other people who actually play the game are way nicer than what we can read in most threads here.
    If we had to make a global opinion on the whole FFXIV community just based by forum feedbacks, Eorzea would be >only< filled with trolls, casuals, role-players and jealousy and it's not the case, it's only because... well it's a forum real players are not like that.

    It's because content isn't based around the idea that WHM can use an AOE stoneskin. The ability to use an AOE Stoneskin does create the dynamic that whenever no one has stoneskin to just reapply cause why not it last 30 mins if I"m not mistaken so there is no reason to not put it in your rotation if half the party needs it reapplied.

    They added it the way they did because it's meant to ease the battle prep phase for healers, rather than having to SS 8 people to provide that slight buff as the start of the fight they put it in to save time.

    The other issue is this, an AOE SS if kept to work just like current SS would provide a huge huge huge huge hugeeee advantage compared to SCH's Succor which is an AOE cure + shield that only last 30 seconds.

    With tank HP like 1980 a WHM SS would provide 1980 defense, if I"m not mistaken a Succor can maybe break 1k if not 850-1k.

    Even with 7500 HP with an 18% shield would provide a 1350 shield for the person who has SS on them.

    It's clear to see how game breaking and OP it would be to allow an AOE SS to be used during combat because it pretty much makes Succor worthless in comparison.
