Making the Summoner a Tank Class

wouldn't it be cool if titan could tank for raid's i did few runs with some friends of mine just test this out. titan having about 10-12k hp seems very well able to hold the boss. just barely.

if you think game needs more tanks why not make all summoner's pet's tank like that way its more different strokes for different folks kinda thing. make there pets have great enimity using abilities . then there one more class that can tank for ffxi

sure little revamping of abilities. here and there. still keeping dps as it is. having rock-hard sturdy pet. tank for 24 man raid mean like rawr

give titan about 50-80k total hp send him on coil run for tanking also damage that summoner deals adds on top of there pet's enimity. mean think about it sense this new concept all together cause final fantasy like have caster/pet class that can actually tank hardcore

Can you please stop with these kinds of suggestions? It feels like you don't pay attention to anything that's said to you, so posting here might be a moot point. I will, however, point out that we're getting a new Tanking class in Heavensward (dark knight)... You know, if you bothered paying attention to anything that's announced or put forward to you. Please stop trying to fix what's not broken -- Summoner is a DPS. It's staying a DPS.

Summoner is just fine as it is. The only class that needs "fixing" is probably Dragoon, as its damage output pales in comparison to that of a NIN. I'd also like to point out that every single one of your suggestions either break the classes, or seems like you're trying too hard make them more like their FFXI counterpart. Also, please explain how tank swapping would work with this proposed new Summoner Tanking class.

TL;DR: Please stop suggesting things when you don't know what you're talking about.

The more I see you posting this completely foolish junk, the more it just seems like you are trolling. Titan is meant for tanking when you are SOLO. Sure it is a good back up in dungeons if a tank dies/DCs/Gets booted and people don't wanna wait... But I could never, ever see Titan tanking one of the coils or even ST.

If you haven't read up on it yet, Heavensward is bringing forth Dark Knight... a new Tank. Making Summoner a Tank class? What the ever loving HELL. It's always been a DPS, it will stay a DPS. Stop trying to fix what is NOT broken. You clearly have no idea how to actually play any of these classes and at this point are just rambling off dumb ideas that honestly do not make any sort of sense.

... Now Summoner become tank class? Seriously tank pet is only for solo mode. SOLO. MODE. NOT for tanking purpose in trial, not for dungeon, and NOT for coil.

If you want static party like 4 DPS into dungeon, yeah it's totally fine to bring summoner for tank pet.

EDIT: Do you even think how hard to control the tank pet for (let's say on Ramuh EX) tank swap? Please think again before posting. (Yeah I didn't know about tank system and my WAR still not lvl 50 but I know some tank system from trial run etc)

Titan really has had a grand total of 3 applications in the history of FF14:
1) soloing, self explanatory.
2) back in the day of 2.0, people did employ the tactic of switching to titan during garuda hm sister phase, one tank on garuda, one on a sister, titan on another sister. Uncommon but legitamate tactic.
3) to exploit a bug when tanking Ramuh ex where titan would take negligable damage.

You clearly do not know what you are talking about.
