Better yet, get all the crafts to 50, and you definitely won't have to worry about RNG. Higher level skills = less inconvenience.

Every class at 50 is still LOTS of RNG. Please go read one of the threads about crafting your Mastery Book II items

4* Recipes with NQ mats are pretty brutal. Fortunately, most of the gear has multiple 1* Mats that are easy to HQ, which makes HQ'ing the gear incredibly easy.

That is true. However, I think the OP is referring to attempting to HQ a low to mid rank Ixal recipe, with no level 50 skills. Given the options available to us, the problem is easily remedied.

Your 4* woes are a totally different behemoth.
