It's just a really tiny thing but it irks me every time I restart the game that I'm pulled back into the 1-5 level categories on every crafting class when I very specifically leave them all in the favourites lists on every class because that's all I ever craft from.
I can understand that when the crafting log was first implemented in the 2.0 Alpha that everyone was accessing different level ranges on different classes and it wasn't really appropriate to have any one level range prioritised over the others (unless they implemented a system side note like macros and hotbars use to remember what you were last in, which is something I would've appreciated but ah well, that was then). The first category was as good as any other to start in then.
Now however, all of your typical crafts (and let's face it, unless you're doing the one time achievement per class, who really does EVERY single recipe on a regular basis? I think most people regularly repeat less than 10 recipes per class at any given time) are now easily accessible from one universal menu of both pinned and history items.
I think most regular crafters use the favourites list far more than the level 1-5 list (regardless of whether they actively pin things to it or not), so would it be possible to change the default setting now that favourites have been implemented?
It should be as simple as just changing the initial opening setting each time the game is loaded, replacing the 1-5 category with the favourites category in like 1 line of code, but it could be slightly more complex in that it actually checks to see if there is anything in the favourites menu (so a just starting level 1 crafter won't be confused when they open it and see no recipes because they've never made anything so have no history).
It's a tiny thing, but it would be nice and it doesn't seem overly convoluted to implement from a purely intuitive point of view.
