Even 1000W PSUs can break. If you have a spare PSU you can test that. But it could also be any other part of the hardware. The game itself can definately not just turn off your system. Maybe you can do a stress test with prime95 to see if it's the CPU or RAM.
edit:
Don't bother using something like HW Monitor or other software to measure the voltage. It won't even be close to what the real voltages are. Only a multimeter or PSU-tester can tell the accurate voltages.
