I will also agree, Bards are always needed and especially for end game content.
Nin on the other hand does have some utilities and does a very good amount of damage.
I say level Archer/Bard up first since Raging Strikes and Quelling Strikes is great to have as cross class for other classes as well and then see if you like Archer in the meantime
