Inflation Control - Novus weapons needing Materia

I've been stuck on my only novus for my main class for months. My problem isn't with the alexandrite or any other aspect of the relic quest, it's just that I'm not a three or four star crafter and im not going to buy Gil to be able to afford the best materia for my novus. There's two stats that I need to finish maxing my weapon and savage aim and might iv's are going for 800k and 650k respectively on my server. I've been spirit bonding for months now and I can count on one hand the savage aim and might iv's I've gotten. IMO SE is basically saying have a high level crafter to be able to make the money for the best novus you can get for most characters, have months to play the rng and spirit bond your own materia, the Gil sellers, or just settle for a bad weapon. I'm starting to see all signs point to everyone having to be a four star crafter to be able to afford a good novus unless you are ok with being at the mercy of rng forever, or the Gil bots:/

In terms of time spent SBing it is probably better to SB crafter/gatherer gear and sell the materia you get then use the gil to buy the ones you want. You don't have to worry about getting materia that will sell for less than the cost of the gear that way.

Neither am I, but I have no problem generating money. There are plenty of items you can craft and sell on the board to generate the funds, as you have several crafting class at 50. I make a very tidy profit selling lvl18, 28, 38 jewellery on the boards. Cost is say 400 gil per item, each item usually sells with 2 days at 10K+ each. That will generate 200K per day. You can earn another 50K per day with In Need bonuses for the duty roulettes. On my board, that means I could buy a Savage Might IV every 2 or 3 days. All other materia is just cheap by comparison. In addition, you can craft Zircon jewellery and SB it. That should yield you at least 1 Savage Might IV, every two sets.

You could SB 2* gear. LTW makes Gryphonskin gear (Monk/Ninja/Bard for everything but the earrings) and Hard Hippo Leather has been cheap lately. Run Lost City, Brayflox HM and Halatali HM. Got about a 50% chance to get a Grade IV. If the gear is HQ and has 1 melded materia it'll fully bind in three runs unless the group is skipping trash.

Set costs about 70-90k to make on my server so if I get even a single Might/Aim IV it's paid for itself 5x over. Honestly unless you get all tier III stat/elemental/quickarm materia you've at least broken even.

Also, Ehcatl Sealants, though the price seems to be tanking. Those were going for 350k per sealant on my server. You can get 3 Sealants every 4 days, so that would get you roughly 1 mil every 4 days. That'd be about 4 Savage Might IVs a week for 15 mins a day worth of effort.

ok just something i finish my novus 1 month after it got the novus upgrade, the materia inflation was worst,
just get the idea using all the materia IV don't wort it, that all...
by exemple my gae bolg (longinus now^^) i just put 25 crit, 25 deter, 25 acc
you can still manage too get less acc with a armor piece, also got the acc on the weapon will be a security if you need acc and have a problem to get it with the current new gears.
it work for any class expept BLM they need acc to but 25 will maybe be a little too harsh, you may want less than 25
and exept for WHM/SCH : they don't need ACC : you may chose Castspeed/deter/crit or something like that
choose not 2 stats but 3 stats, you don't need to put so much materia IV
also for PLD this is what i suggest : both on the shield and sword put the more you can : ACC, Parade on the sword and shield in materia III, put some materia IV just what you can afford, and after or if you can afford materia IV put deter III to complete.
Well i hope it help, and you do the same in real life anyway, you always look for the cheaper price for anything, your weapon will not be better by put so much materia IV on it, also secondary stat don't make a so big difference, you need stat your job can need :
DRG : ACC, DETER, CRIT, PLD/WAR : ACC, Parade, deter, NINJA/MONK : ACC, DETER, CRIT (Skillspeed is also questionable), WHM, Deter, cast speed, pie SCH crit, cast speed, pie, BARD : ACC, crit deter, BLM : Acc, Crit, Deter (eventualy cast speed)

Ok so, got a question...

I hear that when melding materia for Novus, every number of stats you get a bonus for you future upgrades (every 22 stats was it I think) how does this work?

I hear this is reversible, how does that work? You get a new scroll and do 75 meldings all over again? You choose what to replace?

If you re-meld your weapon in a later stage, do you still get the so-called bonuses?


Assuming this, I can just keep playing until I have 15 or so million saved, and re-do my meldings.
