Yes, gla is pld.
Mar has to be drk. There is no other choice unless they will introduce more classes.

The Official names of Jobs thus far are.....
Paladin
Dragon Knight
White Mage
Black Mage
Monk
Bard
That six names for seven classes and we can easily assume...
Paladin = GLA
Dragon Knight = LNC
White Mage = CON
Black Mage = THM
Monk = PUG
But as for Bard we're not sure, and that leaves out MRD and ARC.
You can expect a Bloodbath at SE if they try and put a Harp in my MRDs hands.
They have stated there hasn't been an official name for MRD and ARC yet, but not to worry.
I'm not sure what they have coming down the pipeline, but it seems Ranger would fit ARC and Warrior or Dark Knight would fit MRD.
It may be that Bard isn't attached to any current class or it may not even be a playable job yet, but they just named it since there's one in the storyline.
I was never fond of Dark Knights, but for some reason MRD going Dark Knight is growing on me. Yeah I know it's weird, Holy Omen the Dark Knight, but stranger things have happened.
You know if that is the case we MRDs may be first up for Artifact armor!
Notice the similarities.

Long before the names of jobs were announced, it has been discussed in the ARC forums that BRD may be connected to ARC somehow. But as for Bard we're not sure, and that leaves out MRD and ARC.

All I know is I would love a Dark Knight and it better have more MP then my MRD![]()
I was refering to here when you mad references to CON as BLM when its already been clearified that CON will be WHM and THM will be BLM.
My point being that your post was a little confusing on this particular item.
@ Holyomen I said for the reacord, I was stating it more as a point of clearification, I apologize if it read harshly, that was not my intent.
To get back on topic I Think an even better job tittle for MRD would be Death Knight or Shadow knight, just because in my opinion they sound cooler.
As someone mentioned the bard issue earlier, I really wish they would lay it out there and give us a round about idea of what they expect out of each job, I have been a bard in every MMO I play and I would like to know for certain what class I need to level in preperation for that. At least I would like to know if we will have a class that will be a MP regen battery type class, as I think It would be a strong option also.

Mind in posting the link where they "clearified" it? Because by what i know there is no official confirmation regarding this.
Ppl is assuming THM will be BLM because CON got raises...but CON actually has the base of all color mages. Its much easier THM coming as DRK and CON as BLM in this first batch than THM coming as BLM...after all WHM is not needed right now...in the current game content, you can have CON (without job) dealing with healing role perfectly and BLM (with job) focusing on magic DD.
Great, its gonna be the elemental wheel discussion with you all over again. 27 people tried in that thread to inform you of your misunderstanding, but you would not listen to them untill the posted you a link. If you don't desire to believe me or agree with me, that is fine, but if you want the information, you need to find it yourself my friend.
How does CON have "the base of all mages". This is FFXIV, not FFXI, you err by assuming everything in XIV has the exact principle, and it does not, this has been proven repeatedly.
They have not confirmed what the current classes will advance to, only the Job names themselves.Mind in posting the link where they "clearified" it? Because by what i know there is no official confirmation regarding this.

The rest is just a likely guess.
I do see what you mean by not needing a WHM because CON already is.
But I do not believe SE is adding Jobs out of a "need".
The way I understand it is that these jobs will just specialize the current classes for party play or end game content. So a WHM may just be a CON with faster cures, that cost less mp and heal for more. And their buffs may be stronger and last longer. Hopefully they'll get a bit more than what I'm just thinking up, but overall I don't see anything revolutionary for the upcoming Jobs.
Well, no one posted the link for official elemental wheel. I can find external links by myself...what i want is that if you're sure of it then at least show me where this confirmation came from.
IMO the wheel used IS wrong still and this is what i'll believe until an official confirmation (here or ingame) pops. The very same goes for CON.
What are the signature spells of a BLM, mister? Fire? Blizzard? Thunder? Flare? Sleep? Now...who has these spells? List me one spell from BLM that THM has...only one. Drain maybe? Nop...because only in FFXI BLM had drain...its actually a sage/dark knight spell because those are the classes specialized in dark magic.
Now...what are the WHM spells? Protect? Shell? Cure? Raise? Who has these spells, bud? Once again THM has nothing regarding this class.
Again...RDM this time...Fire? Blizzard? Sleep? Protect? Shell? Who has these spells? Except from FFXI RDM debuffs are mainly restricted to sleep and poison...and even if you consider all the spells from THM that could fit FFXI's RDM, you still would have way more spells coming from CON then THM.
Green Mage? Why not! Protect? Shell? Sleep? Poson? Paralyze? Yep, green mage actually is the color mage more balanced between the 2 classes since it focus on buffs and debuffs only.
So how can you say CON isn't the base of all color mages? Want me to list BLU too? Ok...it has no spell anyway so its even to both classes. =P
Anyway...show me the official confirmation and the discussion is over...if not, /showtits or GTFO! =P
I know...i was just teasing him =P But what i meant is that they can't just come and say stuff as if it was absolute...they didn't even confirmed WHM being added still...maybe the first batch don't even add WHM and COn start off as BLM...we will only know when they pop an official confirmation! ^^They have not confirmed what the current classes will advance to, only the Job names themselves.
The rest is just a likely guess.
