    QoL Combat Changes

    Please consider the follow suggestions:

    1. Target of target for Focus Bar.

    2. No lumped DoT damage (I want to see only my DoT damage, I don't want to see my DoTs combined with all the other DoTs as a massive tick.)

    3. Flying combat text for ONLY your damage.

    4. Combine 1-2-3 combos into one button. There's literally no point in using abilities outside of the rotation.

    I.E. Press Fast Blade, that hotbar button now turns into Savage Blade. If I don't use Savage Blade before the combo ends, it turns back into Fast Blade. If I use Savage Blade, it becomes Rage of Halone.


    5. Grey out party and raid plates that are greater than 25 30 yalms distance away.

    6. Give option to target players or enemies with spells like Shadow Flare (i.e. ground target spells) and have them act as the center of the circle effect. Ground target spells will always be clunky with a controller until an option like this is added.

    7. Change "automatically face target" option to "continuously face target" where if a target moves out of your frontal view area, you automatically pivot to face them instead of being interrupted when your target is moving.

    This can already be achieved by binding a button to "face target" and holding it down while casting a spell; however, it's too annoying to do this on a game pad. It works great on Keyboard & mouse set up.

    I agree with you on everything except number four. There are seldom occasions where I halone out of combo to pick up a single add. Usually when I don't have charged savage blade because the boss flew up somewhere. The situation is really rare but it happens once in awhile. Mostly used it on turn 9 when initially picking up golems so that way I could save my provoke for another golem. Most importantly though, paladin is boring enough as it is. If you made the combo one button, so many more paladins would fall asleep at the wheel. Also the 1-2-3 combo only really works for paladins and dragoons. Some of the other classes have alternate combo paths to choose from. Particularly monks, ninjas, and warriors. Oh and I forgot riot blade which the poster under me mentioned.

    4. Right but what if you wanted to use riot blade?
    6. Sure, I'd like that.
    7. Lock on does almost what you're looking for.

    This so much. i love how i can actually see the enemy i'm fighting (especially if its a smaller one) when i have the flying text turned off. battles look and feel a lot better to me for some reason this way but i am of course interested in seeing how much damage i myself am actually doing, i'm not really worried about seeing random numbers that i didn't deal out, and i dont understand why it's not an option.

    No, there's an option to display only your detrimental effects, but not fly text.

    I agree with all but 2, 4, and 5 - 2 is mostly not viable at all, especially in high man content like Syrcus Tower. It'd be a lot more packets sent out, increasing traffic load, and potentially other very bad stuff, connection-wise. Display wise, that's a heck of a lot of extra numbers the game has to display if you have fly text turned on. 4 is just plain lazy in my opinion, there is no need to lump them all into one button - it's not even viable for Paladins because Riot Blade has its uses even in Final Coil. 5 only because of a slight correction - healing spells have a range of 30 yalms, not 25.

    4 is ridiculous. Most combos are branching combos, so this just plain doesn't work.

    I don't think #1 would ever happen due to adding more to the UI, which adds more memory usage, which also means....wait for it....


    PS3 limitations.

    For number 2, it will be too easy for people to not put their DoTs up. You can see the DoTs of all the classes, so you know how many people are keeping their DoTs up. If you remove this then people can slack off easier in combat and make fights drag out longer and make it harder for everyone else.

    Lock on will continue to face the character when you move your character. This doesn't help mages cause we cant move when casting.

    Doesn't seem like an issue. Other AAA mmorpg titles have individual dot damage displayed. It's very difficult to conceptualize how much damage summoners and scholars do while playing the class because most of your damage is amalgamated.
