So I'm new to the game and I notice you never see people chatting like in wow people are always chatting in trade chat or in archeage in faction chat etc. Now im new and only lvl 9 so maybe its only at higher level or in main cities??

The only place that has chitchat is Mor Dhona (even there it isn't like WoW) everywhere else is pretty quiet.
Never played WoW, but any of the major cities I often see SOME chatting. Maybe more advertising than anything else. WTB/WTS/LFG/LFM etc etc.
mayb most ppl are like me ps3 player with no keyboard( always forget to buy 1 when im in town) lol so ill rarely chat due to virtual keyboard is annoying as XD i talk in FC sometimes but other then that im busy grinding away or in dungeons![]()
FCs and Linkshells can get pretty chatty, but outside of Mor Dhona, you don't see a lot of chatting in the world usually.
Well the main cities can get chatty, the current coil areas can as well, mor dhona as well, sometimes coerthas. Beyond that no there is no global chat channel outside of linkshell and free company chat.
You are correct. The 'Shout' chat option is not a global chat like you would have in WoW. Messages in 'Shout' only reach all players in the same map area as you. If you are in New Gridania, players in Old Gridania and Central Shroud will not hear you.
