    Separate inventory for crafting mats

Was just curious if this is something that people besides myself and those in my FC are wanting or think would be a great idea. I for one would love to have one and the best idea I have seen this work was in guild wars 2 were as when you got an item it went straight to a separate tab and didn't take up space in your actual inventory and then when you crafted something it just pulled the mats from that crafting mats storage.

    What do ya'll think

Sadly... And I'm not saying this to point blame, but I THINK they addressed this earlier, in a round about way and didn't specifically mention PS3 but did say memory limitations prevented this type of thing

Aside from the ps3 though strangely a LOT on PC don't use very powerful systems either so could be that too

Lol no, I didn't. I'm pretty sure they gauge what they can and can't do by the MAJORITY of their users. So of the majority have a ps3 or a low end PC then that's what the limit is.

And for stalking me leera. I'm gonna /poke you in game next time I see you lol

That sounds awfully like "PS2 Limitations" - the go-to excuse for any enhancements to FFXI.

I don't know about other people, but about 3 pages of my inventory is full of crafting mats. I have no idea what else I'd put in there if it wasn't for crafting materials.

I doubt it. Our inventories are stored server side.

Not everything is because of PS3 limitations.[1]

In this case, it's probably server limitations of some sort. It can be done, but they probably need to do some majority restructuring on the server end (databases and whatever ... etc.)

[1] The SNES can store 255 of each item in a game. It has 64kb of RAM. In theory, assuming you don't use any of that RAM for anything else (I said in theory), it can store 64k different items, 255 of each.
