Gathering 408

Does anyone have a guide for which gear and melds are required to reach the gathering requirement for level XV retainer exploration?

I've tried doing research and have come back fruitless. Suppose I didn't get paid enough ventures.

the actual requirement would be exactly the same as your own gathering 408 for all the high level nodes, which is basically overmelded to the max

luckily, they dont really need perception or gp, so it saves you a bunch of time, effort, and/or money

but the basics, get the best possible gear you retainer can wear (for cost effeciency, use the jse, not the forager) meld it max with all the gathering materia it can hold. you can do the same for all the accessories. also, you will more than likely need the i70 weapon as well. main things, get best possible gear without it being overly expensive and melding the best gathering materia it can support, thats really about it

Well, I've heard that you don't actually use accessories intended for gatherers because you can slot more materia on other pieces of gear. But what they are and what their max allowance is for gathering materia is important to know before investing into it. Especially when these materia cost half a mil each on my server.

i70 accessories that are usuable by all classes (rose gold, astral, etc) have the current highest cap. Most fishers use them to get 5/5 Gathering/Perception, since they don't care about GP (fishing doesn't use GP). If you really want, you can buy them for your retainers, and put +5 gathering on them (since retainers don't use perception afaik). They have 1 materia slot, so you don't have to worry about over melding.
