When nearly everyone is leveling GSM as one of their three desynth classes that would be an obvious sign that something is broken in the balance of the desynth classes. Also the going price for mastercrafts on my server is over 1 mil each.
It sounds like what you are saying is it's ok for a particular class to dominate the market because anyone can level that class which is asinine logic to say the least.
Yes it is, because everyone can level it. Are you going to complain next about how some crafting classes have more useful skills than others? When nearly everyone is leveling GSM as one of their three desynth classes that would be an obvious sign that something is broken in the balance of the desynth classes. Also the going price for mastercrafts on my server is over 1 mil each.

Actually. a lot of practical reasons are.
1. Everyone else who was 'serious' about desynthing leveled GSM...in part, because even before the 'Artisan' hack was publicly known, GSM just was one of the easier crafts to get cheap items to level your desynth for as most of your right hand equipment, some weapons/headgear and furniture ALL stem from GSM. So it was the 'cheap and dirty option' even from the get go.
2. If everyone specializes in GSM...then that leaves less flexibility in who has what desynth available to them...so it means overall, we have less dedicated 'desynth' crafters on other roles and therefore, less access for FC's and the playerbase in general to high end breakdowns of things outside of GSM.
3. Basically, it doesn't matter that GSM has it 'easy' but rather that it's not the 'same' or at least a similar degree of difficulty/expense/time for ALL crafts. (because honestly...even what GSM's go through to get their level and then to craft the turn ins needed for the glasses in the first place is work and requires cross-class crafting...or at least is more feasible that way). It just needs to be more balanced is all.
4. SE should be encouraging specialization across ALL crafts....and not basically saying 'well, there's only one 'easy' way to get to the top....oh and furthermore, you can't just level them all (desynth leveling). Since we can only actually basically choose 3 roles to focus on, we need to have people who don't choose GSM. Sure, you can say well...GSM is only one job, and that is true, but that means that then everyone only has 2 additional options, which still means less variety/spread amongst the crafters. Also, if that's the stance, then they might as well made the darn items an actual 4-star GSM synth...because that's what it's basically been in effect anyway.

Personally, I'm fine with cheap mats all around. Upgrade your gear and get back to crafting.
If you're needing special hardware or software to execute the said commands it's cheating. To all who use those devices to get ahead in the game are cheaters. Those mouse macros weren't invented with fair play in mind, that's for sure.
The folks selling gil aren't using these top-end pieces of gear. They are folks like thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3cmCKjPLR8 and this. Maybe they're using the very macros you posted online in forums like this. Hm... They use inexpensive equipment and do things the 'old fashioned' way. No ergonomic chairs, HD screens, programmable mouses or keyboards. It's a sweat shop of video gaming.
There's absolutely nothing that having a macro keyboard or mouse is going to give you that you don't already have. Stop being jelly or buy one or both.
BTW, I'm on PS4, so I don't use any of that stuff.
Besides chaining macros and therefore constructing endless queues of actions without any input on your part, allowing you to be afk for extended periods of time while your character keeps working. This is EXACTLY what people are trying to explain to you. This is EXACTLY what SE don't want you to do.
Instead of accusing people of being "jelly", you should perhaps just follow the rules, hmm? Nobody's "jelly" of cheaters. Also, if you really aren't using any of the stuff, why would you go out of your way to pretend that it's A-OK and legal and that everyone who doesn't agree with you is "jelly"?
Because it's not cheating, that's why! I can understand if you're playing COD and someone is using a modded controller to quick scope or back in the day when people bought controllers that fired pistols faster, but that's not what this is. People aren't setting up their keyboards and walking away and suddenly they have 300 HQ gold ingots or something. If you had one and you used it, you'd see why it would be stupid and ineffective. I use a Strike 7 (programmable keyboard) and a Space Pilot (mouse) at work every day. It would be more work for me to do what you suggest and I would blow up more mats than setting up a macro in game and just kicking them off manually. You just want to believe that there is some inherent advantage, because you find it hard to believe that someone is actually putting in the same effort as you, but they are either lucky enough (RNG) or dedicated enough (putting in more hours) to go further than you.
Kinda like how those 24/7 miners with the afk symbol are sitting there gathering the old fashioned way? I couldn't even begin to program a mine bot script, but I'm pretty sure I could hammer out a craft bot script in a few hours without keyboard or mouse macros.
