However, we don't lose class abilities. Summon 1 and Summon 2 operate exactly the same for a summoner as they do for an arcanist; they call forth a caster and tank pet respectively.

Can I summon a carbuncle as an effective pet? No? Then I have lost an ability.

By that thought, when I switch to Scholar, I should be able to summon 4 pets, right?

IMHO SCH should have been it's own Class/Job. Tying it to ACN is weird. You pretty much dump all your ACN skills when you switch to SCH. Playing ACN teaches you next to nothing about how to play a SCH.

And have you forgotten that we are ACNs first before becoming SMNs? Somehow we have forgotten spells we have known since Lv 3 ...

It's like getting a PhD in Mathematics then somehow forget how to add factions.

No other Job loses base Class abilities but ACN.

That is a rather bold statement considering for the Carbuncles to be viable they would need a potency increase, which would make tanking more difficult >50 when Arcanist or Summoner is involved.

Also welcome to the internet, people here will often have a different opinion than you.

There's really no reason to disallow it - if someone chooses the pet with 10 less potency because they think it looks cute and they aren't in the process of doing high end content, why not let them? Carbuncle is adorable and the Egis aren't nearly as popular it seems.

Not really sure why I'm even arguing with people about this. It has zero effect on gameplay. It's fairly easy to implemented. It doesn't affect them the slightest.

The only reason I can see why they should not be given to SMN is if SE has some other plans for them - once they are given to SMN they can't just take it back.

Just because something seems easy, doesn't mean it is, nor does it mean the developers should spend the time on it. Ever heard the term scope creep? You yourself said this will have no impact on gameplay. Why should they do it? Because a few forums posts?

And i think that when u become a summoner....ur a summoner. Ur an arcanist in the begginning but as u can see arcanist quest sotryline ends at lvl 30. Leaving Space to smn. So ur NO LONGER an arcanist but a smn. Think to the sch. Arcanist is dps and sch is healer....so a sch is still an arcanist?
