I think complaints are more louder than some feature we already knew about is because for the most part, wedding bring nothing to the game compared to actual gameplay issues that need addressing lol. They even said flat out they could make the system worthwhile by adding "couple skills" but simply didn't think about it until someone at fan fest mentioned it.

From my understanding, the whole idea was for a fun RP event for friends to have and the ring would give in-game spouses a new skill to teleport to the other in a snap.

Getting rid of the ring was all it took to divorce.

I guess developing content that bonds two people together is much easier than trying to get the people on your server to work together instead of "pay me first".
