Lowering settings might help. Also, x2 AA seems to perform better than no AA. Make sure your general draw quality is not set above 8. Also, there are a few threads in here that point out optimizations for ATI cards that you can make in the Catalyst Control Panel. I have nVidia, so I can't say what the ATI tweaks are off the top of my head.

As for the card getting hotter, its a different computer, with different air flow. Perhaps smaller fans, or even older fans that just don't spin as fast because barrings are a little worn. Could be any number of things. Even a slightly different processor within the same line of processors can change the ambient heat enough to see a noticeable increase in temperature.

Have you taken the gpu out and cleaned the dust out recently?

Yep i just lower the setting and it was at 80C when the PC shut down. The PSU fan is blowing out hot air don't know how hot but noting like the one in my case.

Starting to think it's the mobo or PSU i'm going to take out my PSU from my computer and try it and see if it shut down if so then i'll have to buy a better PSU. FFXIV costing me a lot just to run on med setting -.- i hope they fix this issue where everything run at high for no reason at least ffxi for 6years never give me issue.

@Exander: i clean it before putting it my gf PC i clan my system every 1month and half or so so i can stay below the temp i like.

@origamikitsune I have everything on standard beside shadows which is low i don't even have any of the system within ffxiv on.

I do have AA off but i thought having it higher would run the Video card harder?

Normally it does, however many many people have reported that 2x AA can improves system performance overall. I suspect this is because with AA off, the software still does some sort of processing to make things look nicer, but with 2x it is shunted to the GPU and off the CPU. This is just a guess though, and does not necessarily apply to your system (although, I've said that before only to find that odd fixes like that work to solve issue that make no sense, so who knows!)

I notice that you have the nVidia 3D drivers installed as well. Is that normal for an ATI card? Not an expert on ATI stuff, but I don't recall them licensing nVidia's 3D technology (though I could be wrong). It is possible you are getting some sort of driver conflict.

Ok it happen again but this time while playing WoW GPU Temp at 75C All the part are new beside the video card which work fine on my computer. The mobo is only a few days old and i did not have this issue with the older Mobo it was running ffxiv fine without issue with the same CPU,HDD,PSU just the mobo that i change.

Starting to think the mobo is DoA

@origamikitsune i had that on the old system which use nVidia's but that not a issue becuase i took off nVidia's divers only a few is on.

but i jsut had the same issue while playing wow it shut down at 75C GPU and CPU was ok temp also.
starting to think the mobo could be DoA.

Taking off AA lowers the usage of video ram. If i kick the AA to x16 my 560 GTX Ti with everything maxed (Besides Ambient occlusion off sense its broken) kicks the video ram past 1GB.

Could be a number of things, could be related to drivers. Could be related to the GPU drawing more power than the PSU Supplies. Could be the fact you replaced the motherboard with another.

Remove ANY nVidia drivers. ATi doesn't use them. Did u have a nVidia card before this AMD?

I'm using the same system i had before the only thing i change was the Mobo and now using the my old video card for this system for my GF. there no BSOD or anything just the fan shut down and there no display but the PC lights are still running.

I'm going to try out my PSU on it and see if that the issue this PSU is only 50w less then what i use when i first got my video card.

My PSU is 550W i did use a 500w before that with the video card 3870 without issue. i guess maybe 450w is not strong enough but i'm getting issue with playing ffxiv / wow

Uninstall those nVidia 3D drivers; those really could be causing conflicts. Plus, its an easy thing to test before tearing apart the computer to test a different PSU.

Done still same issue last thing to check is the PSU but still having issue with GPU also going 80c+ can a low PSU not giving it enough power make the video card overheat?
