    the problem with male miqote.

    they are all so ugly and generic looking...when i see a male miqote...i want it to scream pride...and be sexy to look at...but in the screenshots provided...this is NOT what i see




    see how terrible and ugly they are? buuuuut..when you have something like THIS fabio lookalike...its amazing, sexy and breathes manliness...please make miqotes more sexy

    So wait... you're NOT complaining about the hands? Personally my only other issue with the Mancats are those designs around the eyes...

    Hands, wide open legs like if they met a group of "friends" in a dark alley, that ridiculous /sit, inability to remove those stupid marks under the eyes, there's something about the jaw/lower face that makes it seem like they're always slightly looking down or facing down... why can't they be sexy like fem miqo'tes.

    I happen to love that /sit and am sad that the females can't do it too. It looks predatorial and I love it. I think male miqote are plenty sexy in their own right. I like manly highlanders too, but I love them both for what they offer. start mixing traits too much and they'll each lose what makes their aesthetic special.

    Yup. I much prefer the female marks than the males. At least the females can pick a face without marks if they wanted.

    You can have baby face, baby face, baby face or "I took an iron to the face, face".

    Packets contain your;

    Name, Gear, FC Details, Current Titles, Character Apperance Details, Position, Cast-Bar, HP/TP/MP, Actions&Traits etc.

    Uhh, adding more noses and faces wouldn't do anything to packet size. Those variables already take a byte at least (unless SE is doing bitshifting and purposely shrinking their cap) giving a Max of 256 options. This is a dev time issue.

    Also a lot of that data is probably cached and isn't updated like appearance data.

    I'm just regurgitating what they said about intricate character customization, they were never against adding 1-2 new options, they were against adding in intricate character adjustments. Perhaps they lied, but the last time this came up they said that they wanted to keep the packet data as low as possible and complex character appearance was one of the concerns.



    I'd completely agree that it conflicts more with their adamant stance on a certain level of quality and rigidity on the design of the game.
    Give players too much freedom and they have a tendency to make things look too odd. FFXIV 1.23 was nice in that it had a very restrictive character creator depending on your race/clan.

    We have a lot more customisation this time than we did in 1.23, it's not as expansive as other games, but they development team works differently.


    Quality Vs. Quantity rings very strongly here

    Seems according to them, character data size really is a concern.
