It was still easier to get to lvl 60 after TBC because you could access new areas at level 58 and have a flood of quests for exp. It was made easier on the second and espically the third expansion to catch up the previous level cap and get into the new content.

In WoD, you'd only get a character to level 90, which was the cap for MoP. All this really does is let you get into WoD content as soon as possible, making it feasible for new players to join in if they were newly invited, or for veterans to create new characters on another realm with their friends.

But you are definitely right in the "if its new, it'll be fast" quip. This was the case for ninjas with FATE trains, and espesically the case for the Sexus grind when it came out. Have fun finding a party for sexus light farm or even finding someone that's still updating the bonus light window if you werent working on it the first 3 weeks after release.
I wasn't quite sure on this. It has been a while since I played. I do recall them reducing the xp needed to get to a certain level a couple of times. And I'm sure the introduction of the heirloom gear helped out too.

But yes, I do think that the expansion will cause problems for people that aren't ready to jump right into it. Which is why I think and should make plans to get ahead of this. I have meet a lot of people online that are just now getting around to leveling ninja and are already having problems. Many wished they would have started when everyone else did.

Expansions are typically times when people will come to check out the game. Returning players especially. Last thing you want to do if you are either of these types of people is to feel that you are so far behind everyone else that it seems almost impossible to catch up with them.
