All this just proves, it doesn't benefit you at all for doing the "so called end game content".

MMO Expansions typically come with gear resets, Relics should really be no exception. BiS will typically get you to the new lvl cap quite easily and then get replaced as soon as you start doing dungeons etc.

Nobody know if the relic quest line will continue in the expansion or not only the devs. Pretty much just speculation at this point nobody has a real answer.

For those who are in favor of a reset. I have to wonder, if they hold relics. I have my doubts. Which is why there is no significant loss from their perspective.
Just IMO.
My drg is on the verge of a gae bolg nexus. I started it, oh let's see, about 2-3 months ago? Not, sure, I started it as soon as the quest came. Repeating garuda HM just.....mutilated my mind, I had to stop. I kept telling myself how much I hated what I was doing. I should have been trying to clear coil, raise gil, but no, I was doing fates and garuda and hating every second of it. Now I just casually get lights through dungeons. Do I want this crap to disappear forever? YES.
wth was wrong with some simple quick skill check like the HM primals? What players get out of the relic quest is trash compared to endgame weapons anyway? why se have to rape our souls for it......

Relics from 2.0 → 3.0 will probably take the same path as relics from 1.0 → 2.0.
Those who got their relics earlier will continue to be able to use theirs and can begin on the new upgrade quest immediately. Those just starting then, will get a condensed , expedited version up til around nexus or excaliber just like we got a condensed version for the relic.

Hopefully they don't disregard the current relic system and actually continue to upgrade them, while possibly making the Zodiac quests easier. Would be nice to introduce a different type of relics too, such as FFXI had Empyrean.
I'm allfor the new relic or whatever it'll be called in 3.0 lol
Imagine if they gated it behind the current relic? If they don't nerf it hardcore or completely just take it out/ make it not required, imagine how ppl will be like when they think oh... I have 7 more steps to do before i can start on the 3.0 relic chain.
Sure....hey you know what....lets just boost all new players to lvl 60 when the expac comes out, because, you know....we can't have them starting at lvl 1 and having to work there way up like everyone else has....better have max ilvl gear waiting for them in there mailbox aswell so they can just afk in Mor Dhona, because no one wants to actually earn anything, they just want it given to them....otherwise its...ya know....not fair....just LOL @ the current mmo generation of players...want everything for nothing....the later you are to an mmo, the more content there is to get through, that's how it isI'm allfor the new relic or whatever it'll be called in 3.0 lol

You're being short-sighted.
If you make it just as hard for the new player to do everything that previous existed, and make it just as time consuming and gate all the new stuff behind the old stuff, then you will just have generations of players that can't play with the previous generations. It would also take them super long to get anything accomplished because there will be no one else to do it with them because everyone else is on the new stuff.
You have to take the time sinks or old content out by nerfing it or creating a shortcut, or the new players will be perpetually behind the old players and they won't play beyond the 1st month because they would never be able to catch up and play with anyone else.
