2.5 may be the last patch in this version of the game until 3.0 but remember 2.5 comes in 2 parts
2.5P1 is the initial patch of 2.5 and 2.5P2 will be the ending of the 2.x story line (known as the zodiark arc) most likely the FCoB will be put in duty finder come 2.5p1 and will be farmable and able to be solo DFable in 2.5p2

You must be right Sir or Madam, letting people actually enjoying the game without any kind of lockouts of restriction is a punishable sin, infact we all should be thanksful to earn 450 tokens a week, thanksful for being able to play and gear only one job over the 10 jobs every major patch and thanksful for having no purpose into creating/joining a FC than enjoying a glorified chat room.

Lockouts are a pacing mechanism because we obsolete content every 6 months. Shocker, but people can play content faster than a team can program it. You can play 99% of the game in 110 free farm gear on any job you want. Just because you can't 130 10 jobs in a week only needed for 3 fights in the game does not justify removal of the pacing mechanisms in place.
As for op, it's the same pattern. 2.5 ct and buffing sold tome sources. 2.5x upgrade items added to ct. 2.59 (whatever last update # before 3.0 is) final relic upgrade, increasing upgrade items in new ct/fcob. Story arc to 3.0.
Don't know why people think they are going to drastically shake up the formula they have gone by to this point so much. 3.0 is the shake up. Business as usual till then.
2.45 - Marriage system, relic upgrade to i120
2.5 End of Crystal Tower arc - dropping of Carbontwine/Carboncoat/EATs in World of Darkness 24p raid with weekly lockout, Relic upgrade to i130
2.55 End of Zodiark story, preparation for 3.0 - FCoB in DF, but not able to be solo-queued, final Relic upgrade/end of story to i135-140 (depends on how "ultimate" they want to make it)
3.0 Heavensward - FCoB solo-queueable with nerfs to T10-12, new Lv60 endgame
They've already mentioned instituting a system to soften the lockout restrictions for Coil, we just don't have details yet.
I know, but this is not the same, I'm wondering if people would want / if people think SE should implement a full removal a month or two before Heavensward, their proposed system is a partial removal, lowering the chance to get a drop.
There most likely will be a 2.5X patch that will unlock final coil like 1 month before the expansion comes out as kind of like a prep patch for the expansion.
