Summoner Primal Limitations

Just curious why summoner is limited to the main 3 primals, seems like it could make for interesting strategies and abilities if summoner could also use a Leviathan-egi and a Ramuh-egi especially with the addition of Shiva, it would be neat to be able to summon them as well. Might make the summoner job a little too over powered but does anyone think this is something that could or should be added into the game in either a patch or the expansion?

Where and when was this confirmed? Don't get me wrong i'm happy that it is being integrated but it seems like it would've been more talked about.

Expansion pack, level increase, look for new stuff for all jobs/classes.

It was talked about a lot a while ago when it was announced, but that was so long ago...haha.

They already confirmed it coming with the expansion. Their basic response was more or less [although they knew Levi and Ramuh and Soon to be (then) Shiva would come, they felt it would be unfair to the other classes for only one class to get new skills while the others didn't.] As such it was delayed till when all the classes would get upgrades and thus, that would naturally come from expansion with level cap increase.

Ok That makes sense to me, it'll be interesting for sure to see how the game reacts with all the new content coming out in the expansion, i'm super stoked to see the changes for everything. Do you by chance know if they have set a release date for the expansion yet?

Doesn't add much to be honest. The cost of switching Egis is prohibitive (6 sec cast, 532 MP). You will just use one pet, you have select at the start, throughout a fight.

I am not suggesting summoning multiple egis per fight all I was saying by different strategies was that leviathan egi for example could add a slow debuff to enemies or shiva could silence or something. It would just give the devs more to work with especially if elemental resistance's became more prevalent.
