Good Knee High Socks Day 2014 Edition 11/28 This Friday!

It's that time of the year again! As our missing-in-action comrade-in-arms Reinheart explained last year, 11/28 is Good Knee High Socks Day because the first syllable in 1-1-2-8 in Japanese ("i"chi, "i"chi, "ni", "ha"chi) can be rearranged into ii ni ha-ii or Good Knee High Socks (ii = Good, ni ha-ii is pronounced "nee hai" aka Knee High).

If you've got screenshots of your character or NPCs, illustrations you've made, cosplay, or anything related to knee high socks/thigh highs, please post them! Make Knee-Soken proud!

Well aren't we a Debbie Downer. I do believe there aren't many boots/sock type equips that actually look like real life knee-high socks. So, us players have to get creative with this!! Which is always fun to see others creative sides! Here is my contribution to the thread ^.^

I prefer thigh high zettai ryouiki myself but the event name refers to knee highs to make the Knee-Soken pun. He's confirmed to like both.

i know all about Soken, and I'm with you on thigh high. IDK why there isn't some of the other sized socks in the game just for him. lol

Personally I'd prefer if the socks actually cover the whole feet instead of just cutting off at the ankle, but there's nothing that can be done at this point...

But those go up to the thigh...aren't they called thigh highs? o.O Knee socks go right under the knee..no?

Technically:



Ankle – cuts off at the top of the foot and the back only goes up to the dip of the ankle
Crew – extended a few inches above the foot, usually stopping below the muscle of the calf – standard sock size
Knee – Stop under the knee at the front and go to the crease in the back of the knee, usually held up by the calf
Overknee – Stop at the top of the knee, or an inch or so above. Usually held up by tension of the knit/elastic
Thigh-high – rises up to cover half to most of the thigh, either held up by the muscle of the upper/center thigh, elastic or garters/garter belts
Pantyhose – fully covers and extends to the waist, held up by elastics and the narrowing of waist.

Some higher versions, such as pantyhose and thigh-highs can be patterned to resemble lower sizes with clever use of solid and sheer patterning. Overknee socks tend to be lumped together with knee socks when they are quite different, with overknees being more in the sexy side while knee socks have more of a preppy, sporty vibe.
