Being able to receive Alexandrites in several ways (most of them being controllable by the player) is a far cry from battling the RNG for Atma drops. Hunts, dungeon runs for Soldiery, maps. Atmas only come from grinding FATEs.

And anyway, increasing the Atma drop rate has done nothing to change the Animus book/Alexandrite/light grinds. It's still going to take a casual player months to get a Nexus.

That's my point. The posts will be about novus/nexus taking too long now instead of atma. Making thing easier change absolutely nothing at all. People prefer complaining instead of putting time into stuff because they know soon or later the devs will spoonfeed them.

And don't even bring the "Casual have no time for this" card. I have a job, daily workout, i have to take care of my grandfather with cancer and i found the time to grind out my nexus.
There's a difference between not being able to do something and not wanting to do something. Making thing easier only encourage the lazy generation behaviors

Or that the content starts out as a wall for the gifted of time/ability/asking for a thrashing and then bends down for the those who are not, reaching the needs of multiple types of -paying- customers. Not everyone plays games because they want Demon Souls/FFXI, some people are content with a fast progression during the short time they spend. I think balancing both players at the same time is going to always create this both sides complaining at once effect, but I imagine it meets both in a way best for SE's pocket (meaning it can reach out to the most consumers). There is nothing wrong with a niche game, for those players that like the niche, but this isn't like FFXI - it isn't a niche game (FFXI is quite successful example of one though).

Also having strict time frames compounded and joining a game late really really sucks, speeding up the old stuff makes it so new people can join without starting their first mountain climb into the himalayas as everyone else shouts " you're going to die, you'll never make it up here - you should have joined the game 5 years ago" XD.

I think removing the lockout on previous coils is a good enough way to catch up though. Making T1-8 the easiest thing in the world is not teaching player how to deal with the incoming T9 brickwall in their way

The Atma grind hasn't been made easier. It was never difficult to begin with. It's simply been made more equitable. The Animus/Novus/Nexus grinds are the same for all players: put in one unit of effort, and you're rewarded with one unit of progress. The more effort you put in, the faster you'll have your weapon. The Atma grind was fundamentally different for all players: put in one unit of effort, and there is a low chance you will be rewarded with one unit of progress. So even if two players put the same amount of effort in -- let's say 12 hours each -- one player can walk away with 12 Atmas, and the other can walk away with zero. How anyone can defend this system is beyond me.

But there's another thing to consider here. Atma weapons have the exact same stats as Zenith weapons. So after doing the Atma grind, you haven't earned a new weapon -- You've simply earned the right to begin the upgrade process, which is the real grind. Why do we need the RNG to block access to this?
