The PS2 version of FFXI was the most gimped thing ever.FFXI was the greatest MMO ever, so many great memories, I have played many MMO nothing compares.
FFXIV is great but it could be 100X better, that's why FFXI is the Flagship game and it was on ps2 which runs on old tech but expected old games usually beat out new graphic games.
Wait where did FFXI come from? I never once mentioned it.
Also doom and gloom really no its reality, why do you think there is a cash shop? The cash shop is there because the game isnt doing as great as it has been made out to. The content is boring no matter what you wish to think or believe. Dungeons really they are a joke they teach nothing, they dont pose any real threat, same with the open world there is no real threat it is zerg everything. Thats why we have such a horrid community because of how easy everything is.
What needs to be done is 1st change all dungeons to open world dungeons than remove the duty finder (no more cross server play) keep party finder once this is done players will know have to be responsible for their behavior. Instance dungeons should be for some things not every damn thing in the game.
Leveling should take longer than it currently dose and the class and job quests should be difficult to teach players how to play job and or classes. A game can be fun as well as provide education in how to play it. Currently this game dose neither.
So we have vertical progress but yet we have no horizontal for gear or weapons it is only one way, there is very little wiggle room to make your character stand out in combat (vanity dose nothing).
Dev's waste so much time on making vanity items and gear yet they have forgotten how to make content. They are more concerned with policing the community vanity and giving in to the demands of the layer base to make things easier. Just because some players can not complete the content right away or it takes some longer dosent mean they wont complete what ever it is they are trying to do.
This is why game have become stale and boring, its all a rush to the top and they forget get that it is about the journey.

I suggest you stop comparing other failed MMOs to this one regarding the history of Cash Shops being doom.
SE made the call to add it. To generate more money besides subs. The game just released in China, with over 1M pre-orders. They were just in Korea, promoting the game there as well for release.
In 2.1 we hit over 500k different players per day at any given time. This game easily has over 1M+ subs and it's goal was never to hit WoW figures. On top of everything they even spent money on 3 Fanfest events and the on going Live F.A.T.Es since the launch of the game.
With a major patch every 3 months and the amount of content alone in them, your vanity opinion is a joke. Your main concern is mostly vertical progression and how it's content is implemented.
What brainwashing? Making things easier change nothing because those who give up on atma will give up on novus
those who can't kill T5 will give up on T9
The only thing making stuff easier is change the first few words in the daily X is too hard thread

Being able to receive Alexandrites in several ways (most of them being controllable by the player) is a far cry from battling the RNG for Atma drops. Hunts, dungeon runs for Soldiery, maps. Atmas only come from grinding FATEs.
And anyway, increasing the Atma drop rate has done nothing to change the Animus book/Alexandrite/light grinds. It's still going to take a casual player months to get a Nexus.

That's my point. The posts will be about novus/nexus taking too long now instead of atma. Making thing easier change absolutely nothing at all. People prefer complaining instead of putting time into stuff because they know soon or later the devs will spoonfeed them.
And don't even bring the "Casual have no time for this" card. I have a job, daily workout, i have to take care of my grandfather with cancer and i found the time to grind out my nexus.
There's a difference between not being able to do something and not wanting to do something. Making thing easier only encourage the lazy generation behaviors

^ I hope they dont keep the same raid pattern. 4 bosses ever six months. If that stays the same so many people will quit.

last time I checked we had 2 raids per cycle with 8 bosses total. Yes one is easy, but 2 raids nevertheless... Also, if people quit because "not enuf raid bosses", I ask them : "Do you prefer 4 (relatively) hard bosses every cycle or 20 idiotic tank and spank sharing the mechanics of precedent 4 ?"
i.e, 4 harder fights or 20 "I have one sole mechanics to throw at your face" boring fights ?

The appeal of being the third* wheel is too great... I also am thankful the devs ensure players are not left in the dust from time. I used to play pretty hardcore (in WoW) and back then catching up would have been more like I'm so high I can barely see the whelps below. Now I can't dedicate so much time and I'm the whelp lol, I appreciate the rolling mountain. If I put in that extra oomph I can hit the peaks but otherwise at least im staying somewhere near the base and not getting avalanched to the next town back.
Although, a little more help- one week roll over forgiveness on stones would be nice... lol, I was busy last week >.<.
Would be neat to set in special options for non-nerfed/challange content via party finder/in server only options (don't want to dilute the DF pool). We sort of already have that with Savage Coil. Maybe cute little check boxes "Demon Wall Gnatts checkbox, +1 chest at wall".
*Fourth, bah Alukah! :P
