FFXI was the greatest MMO ever, so many great memories, I have played many MMO nothing compares.
FFXIV is great but it could be 100X better, that's why FFXI is the Flagship game and it was on ps2 which runs on old tech but expected old games usually beat out new graphic games.
I played FFXI as well. I spent over 9 years in that game and the memories I've formed in Vana'diel are something precious to me.FFXI was the greatest MMO ever, so many great memories, I have played many MMO nothing compares.

However to say that FFXI was the greatest MMO ever is an exaggeration. FFXI, at its peak had issues that never got addressed. Even now some of those issues maintain.
Despite the many memories that I have in FFXI, I refuse to look at it through rose colored glasses.
Just because something is imperfect doesn't mean that I cannot care for it.

Still in its prime it did the job, I remember unpacking it and playing for first time, I was hooked staying up all night running into walls and getting killed while passing out and meeting people becoming good friends laughing at the party running to selbina from ghost or angry goblins.
