    "Binding"... why not "Bound"?

Not very important or game breaking thing, but it could be improved maybe.

When we put on some gear, it binds at the very first use of skills or the first hit with a weapon. Now, in version 1, it took some time to completely bind to us iirc, and on the top of the item window it said "binding", until it was bound, then it said "binding" still...
Nowadays, version 2, it will bind, as mentioned before, after first use. But still it says on top "binding".
Can this maybe get corrected to "bound"? Since it's not binding but already bound anyways...

It is binding. It's spiritbonding to you. Once it reaches 100% spritbound it will be bound.

no. the moment it gains any amount of spiritbond it will be character bound. so essentially like the OP said, the first time you use it in combat/crafting/gathering.

It's not the spiritbond I mean, it's the "item bound" I mean, that which prevents us from trading that piece once it's been used. And only the wording I'm referring to, as it should be "bound", not "binding"

It depends on what is being described. Is the item bound to your character at 1% spiritbinding, making it bound to your character? Or is it still binding to be able to be converted at 100% spiritbond? The latter describes a process that is incomplete until 100%, thus it is still in the process of binding.

    It has nothing to do with spiritbond ;;
It's bound to the character after one use, no spiritbond progress at all; a clearer example might be furniture: there is absolutely no spiritbond involved, and as you place one furniture in your house, that piece becomes bound to you.
See the difference in the spelling:

spiritbond -> spiritbonding, as in make a bond between you and the piece of gear until 100%, then it becomes convertible
bound -> binding, as in bound to you because you've used it, therefore not suitable to sell or trade since it's "second hand"

    Now read the OP again

Items bound to you is connected to the spiritbonding process. There used to be a severe issue with the i70 crafted gear in 2.0 where they wouldnt spiritbond anywhere accept coil, leading to abuse of using them everywhere else then selling them once you got a better upgrade. They would never reach 1% spiritbond level, and would thus never be bound to you. To combat this SE, changed how this worked, and on many things, as soon as you do anything with them, they gain 1% spiritbond, thus becoming bound to you. The spiritbond process is what cause anything to become bound to you at all. Anything glamoured automatically get 1% spiritbonded to you, thus is bound to you. Same applies to furniture.

Again, nothing to do with spiritbond. They are two different terms and I'm talking about the one that BINDS, not BONDS. Anything glamoured automaticly gets BOUND to you, not spiritbonded.
BIND is to prevent used gear from trading, BOND or SPIRITBOND is to convert into materia.

    Anyways back on topic:

Can we have the expression fixed to "bound" instead of "binding"?

A full explaination has been given, yet you remain stubborn. The 2 are linked, explaination has been given of why this happens, yet you dont listen. Good luck with this thread, hopefully more people will explain and you will, once again, refuse to listen.

Something only binds to you when the spiritbonding process has started.

Have a look at that glamour item, you shall see its at 1% spiritbind with you, which is why its bound to you.

With the 1% on glamour items I will retract and say "my bad", and you were right.
Then again, I am sorry that you still can't understand my point. I mean a grammar issue, not a game mechanics issue. Although spiritbonding and binding are linked and one depends on the other, the term "binding" which you can see on the upper part of an item window refers to the verb "to bind" and currently has an incorrect use as the item is already fully bound to the character and cannot be traded. If it has 1%, 0% or 100% spiritbond (verb "to spiritond", not "to spiritbind") it matters not, it is bound and you cannot put it on the market boards and therefore should be shown as "bound", not "binding".

Please don't hate me, I am not trying to fight you, I'm just trying to explain what I'm saying here
