I'm not sure what those two functions are, or how you determined that, but "a full percentage less cpu in the same circumstance" sounds like a positive result. To my inexperienced eye, it would seem like Nvidia has some work to do with nvd3dum.dll and how it interacts with Final Fantasy XIV.

Thanks for the feedback! I believe I've seen you around the Geforce forums quite a bit, although I rarely post over there.

I guess so, considering it's one of the few games my GTX970 plays worse than my old 570 on same settings, but it's not a Call of Duty or GTA game so they will prob ignore, and with luck they'll think about it for the DX11 client.

I just hope SE can do a proper DX11 client, usually DX11 brings lower performance, usually.

Regarding the tweak on my GTX970 i'll test later today during peak times, because right now isn't the best time.

I also feel like on my GTX970 the performance just degrades over time on this game, might be because of the alt-tabs i don't know. If i reboot it becomes better again, it's like something is messing the resources and with the time passing it keeps messing more resources making it worse.

I can confirm that there is a bit of an issue where the gpu usage will get stuck fairly high for no reason, have to toggle between fullscreen and windowed or fullscreen and borderless window to return it to normal.
