Note that this only really works with X79 Sandy Bridge-Es. This is because Nvidia decided to only support 5GT/s bus mode by default on these platforms for compatibility reasons. Native PCI 3.0 platforms like Ivy Bridge already run in this mode via driver, and won't see a performance increase by doing this.

Correct on the force PCI-E GEN3, I shared the info for users that may be in that boat. Original post updated, thank you!

The Multithreaded Driver adjustment is not relegated to X79 Sandy Bridge-Es, and should benefit a wider range of Nvidia user.

But being an Haswell architecture CPU I guess I'm SOL on this fix? Since that technology came after Sandy Bridge and Ivy ( couldn't find a specific .exe file for my case)

    ( I got an i7 4700HQ @2.4 GHZ (effectively 3.2 GHZ with turbo boost / hyperthreading) )

Run Nvidia Inspector, and click on the tool icon:

    Thanks for the tweak OP

More than likely you're set, and don't require the fix! Users with CPU's after Sandy Bridge-E, and Nvidia GPU's should already benefit from PCI-E 3.0. The test is nice to confirm you are in fact running in PCI-E 3.0. If you weren't, you might have a different problem.

You're welcome! 59-89 FPS is a great range to be in!

While the PCI-E tweak doesn't apply to my mobo, the profile tweak added a nice 10 fps.
Still only about 50ish fps in a zone with a handful of other players, such as a city early in the morning like my current testing.
But better than 40ish. I kept myself locked down to 30fps just for consistencies sake because of that. Felt really smooth going uncapped and running around my house, haha.
