Why are pvp portraits so 'buggy'?

Why do I have to re-set the portrait literally every time I play pvp or else I risk having the default portrait that isn't even in my portrait collection anymore?

Am I doing something wrong?

I set the portrait to my gear set even and it seems to have done nothing. The portrait just doesn't work unless I click 'use as instant portrait' every time I change so much as a ring on my gear.

Admittedly, a very minor issue, but boy is it annoying me.

Well the portrait system is tied to the adventurer plates and it's in beta right now. Not everything is going to work properly.

I don't need to; I already know what's going on.
They're offloading QA off onto their users to save on money.

Of course you can put your spin on it. I think most of us who follow your post history here understand. I think really they should simply run all their development decisions by you first to be sure they meet with your approval.

There is no spin.

They released a beta of something to the public instead of testing it themselves. There is no other reason to do this.

I agree with Denji. Wonder if square even has quality control anymore.

Guess I'll just hope for a fix, glad it's not just me doing something wrong.
