Using the FFXIV Benchmark for testing, I went from 96 FPS with the default driver, to 119 FPS after implementing the following two tweaks.
1. The First tweak involves adjusting the multithreaded driver setting for FFXIV's driver profile. This should work for just about any Nvidia user! No special requirements, aside from being an Nvidia user.
Run Nvidia Inspector, and click on the tool icon:
Navigate to the Final Fantasy XIV Real Reborn profile, and click on the Show Unknown Settings Icon:
Go down to line:
0x0092F4DE and set it to:
0x75328097 and click "Apply Changes" in the top right corner. Restart FFXIV.
I call this the multithreaded driver tweak based on the "CustomSettingNames_en-EN.xml" file in version 1.9.7.2 of Nvidia Inspector, it shows a friendly name of "Multithreaded driver" for 0x0092F4DE, while "0x75328097" sets the flag to "Disable Async, only dual-core optimization".
2. The second tweak is a fix put out by Nvidia for Sandy Bridge-E users, on an X79 platform. That's me! The Nvidia fix is used to force PCI-E GEN3 on motherboards that support it. In my case, each time I install a new Nvidia driver, I have to run this fix in order to benefit from Gen3 speeds on all three graphics cards. I'm running Tri-SLi. Restart required after running the force-enable-gen3.exe and when you run the exe, it looks like nothing happens.

To find out if you're running in Gen3 or not, check GPU-Z via the Render Test:
You should get a result like so:

Using the FFXIV Benchmark for testing, I went from 96FPS with the default driver, to 104FPS with the multithreaded driver fix, to 119 FPS with the Gen3 patch installed.
