    FFXIV and OST

After the countless hours spent on FFXI, the only thing I can never forget is their OST. For ARR, I hope they would consider changing Coerathas Central Highlands OST. Perhaps it good but not good enough when spending all time game play in it, especially when the Ishgardians get back to their senses and join as a 4th city.

And I'll say it again; please adapt the music so it can be looped again. The main reason people don't remember the OST is because we don't get to hear it.

Hrmm im gonna get hate for sayin this, but I feel like the FFXIV 2.0 music doesn't have that unique "final fantasy" vibe like it did in 1.0. Yes, I know Uematsu composed the 1.0 OST, and this is now a different composer.... it's just that when I listen to an OST from ffxiv:arr, I wouldn't think it to be final fantasy - It sounds like a generic mmo soundtrack. There are times when I have heard ffxi songs, and knew it was from something final fantasy because it sounded and felt like a final fantasy-ish song (fyi: I never played ffxi)

??? What do you consider 'final fantasy-ish?' Because the ARR soundtrack is AMAZING and DEFINITELY Final Fantasy-ish. 1.0 sounds like FFXIII, not like pretty much any other FF game (Ok, Crisis Core's soundtrack notwithstanding).

FFXI's soundtrack only had a few songs here and there composed by Uematsu (the opening theme for the opening movie, Ronfaure, the Prelude, a few more here and there), the rest were done by two new-at-the-time composers: Naoshi Mizuta and Kumi Tanioka.

As for why Uematsu hasn't had much work in the new soundtracks is because he no longer works for SE, he's a free agent. If they want Uematsu's work, Uematsu likely charges SE per song or for the length of the song or both, as opposed to just paying Soken what his pay rate is for an entire soundtrack. I can see a collab happening with Soken and Uematsu, it's just a matter of contracts.

The biggest disappointment for me in this game is the blatant lack of Uematsu.

WHY isn't "Twilight over Thanalan" played in Thanalan anymore? That was one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

As far as I remember, Twilight over Thanalan does play during the intro cutscene when starting as a class in Ul'dah-- so, it's in the game! Just... one time where a lot of people won't hear it.
