The biggest disappointment for me in this game is the blatant lack of Uematsu.


WHY isn't "Twilight over Thanalan" played in Thanalan anymore? That was one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

There are still songs from Uematsu ingame
Nemesis, The Dark's Embrace, The Dark's Kiss, Fury, Phantom of the Lake, Wrath of the Eikons, Primal Judgement, Horizon Calling, Flightless Wings, Pitfire, Imperial Will, Steel Reason, Tempest and many more

This! It was so much better than any of the current drum ambient tracks there.
The biggest issue I have with Soken is that compared to Uematsu all Soken's tracks are SUPER SHORT. Why can't he put more work and melody to these pieces?

I miss old Limsa field track most of all. It had progression melody, mood and depth. I can still hum it but for the life of me I can't recall nor hum any of the current La Noscea tracks.

Well in the NA fanfest he really showed insight into the whole time frame he has to create music. He created a lot of music and it's really interesting what he's done in such a short amount of time.

I agree that certain OST's are better (Twlight over Thanalan is literal perfection imo) but he has stated he has help from Uematsu for 3.0, I hope we return to the grand melody OST's but I hope we don't lose what has made 2.0's OST unique.

You may have forgotten that Soken said that he may have Uematsu help/add to the soundtrack for Heavensward? He said it (I can't remember, it's late at night lol) during the music session at the London Fan Festival. Well, someone in the audience at first suggested it, and Soken went "OKAY! " as a response.

What I find really funny is if you turn off the game's BGM and loop the songs from 1.xx in the background, they all still fit better than the current game's music.
