    Wolves Den !

    Hello,

    As I said many times and am probably not the only one to have. Will there be one day any fix to revive Wolves' Den's activity which has been dead for the past months? Because seeing this (Although there have been way worse times where the queue timer can go past 200 to 300 minutes easily... And it's like this everyday)



    When something's broken or imbalanced in PvE you can be sure to get a fix quickly. On the other hand, nobody cares about PvP?
    In my opinion, the first ideal solution would be to remove that stupid PvP Ranks restriction which destroyed the arena.
    Improving the meh rewards would be another solution, seeing what Frontlines can award in comparison.

    Some people like the PvP gameplay of Final Fantasy XIV. Some even prefere to arena (Wolves' Den), do you people even care, do even Yoshida care?!
    Please understand that I'm not spitting on the available PvP content, I make do with it. But I point out the fact that you need to wait for hours on end to enjoy one game of Wolves' Den nowadays (unless you arrange premades)

    Instauring Rank restrictions was a really bad idea since the PvP community is so small. What's the point to release new PvP gear if you can't use it anyway ??
    When will there be a Ranked Arena to award the most competitive and dedicated PvP players? I don't understand how you can release new dungeons every content patch and nothing towards PvP, especially something as simple as an additional arena map or two with just different environments. (We're playing in the same map for the past year... that is when we can actually play it)

    I hope I can get some new replies other than the usual basic ones we get everytime. And don't move this thread to the PvP subforum which is as dead as Wolves' Den.
    This thread will probably be forgotten soon, the same way everyone forgets about the PvP community.

    Yoshida made a mistake thinking players would naturally switch into Wolves' Den. It's been 4 months since FrontLines have been made available. People are still not attracted/motivated into playing Wolves' Den. For the reasons I've stated.

    Why are PvP players ignored like this? We're not demanding much though...

    From what I've read, the developers seem more intent on giving us more game modes with new Frontline style maps, rather than building up what they already have. Silly if you ask me, especially when Frontlines doesn't even function without kicking half a dozen people every damn game. They should prioritize giving Wolves' Den Tournaments/Rankings to try and give it a resurgence, rather than forgetting about it and adding Frontlines 2.0. More game modes certainly are welcome, but how about fixing the two you've got before adding a third?

    i would like to see moe wolvesden matches get played without premades , fighting another team of 4 is all fun but unless its a premade you hardly pvp

    even if they switch or add more games modes with the wolvesden from single team kill to teamdeathmatch?,

    the reward with wolvesden is what makes me not want to play it from time to time just due to the fact we wait 30+mins for silly rewards i allso think a buff to rewards wouldnt sort that issule they would need to spend alittle more time into fully doing something with the PvP

    Wolf's Den died because of all the mistakes and imbalances it had at the start.
    • PvP Skills were to necessary and you didn't start with them.
    • Level 50 PvP could have extremely disparate power levels depending on if the participants had i50 or i90 gear and Morale just amplified this.
    • Matches were basically determined by which team can kill the healer first.
    • Semi-premade teams had an incredible advantage.
    • Class balance was poor. Blackmages and Summoners were overwhelmingly powerful.

    All that drove away participants after the first few weeks.

    The Rank pairing system would not be so problematic if the player population was large enough. Wolf's Den queue times hit 3 hours often because 1 team is missing a role (often healer) and none are queuing.

    It is having blinkers to think that the restriction of ranks are not there for much ... I was more than 400 arenas in the week before that restriction comes a 2.2 and destroy the whole system...

    Just when I try to organize two teams with four roles are ... the task is complicated because Ranks restrictions...

    Just 7 people have matured enough rank for example ... and 8 th or a beginner. And you will have your beautiful 8 people able to do the 4v4, you will wait a long time to proc ... This is completely stupid.

    JFC! That's unacceptable.

    They should remove the rank restriction, indeed. Or at the very least FIX the damned thing. I've played other games with queues that take into account ranks and don't run into this problem because the queues only PREFER people of close rank, not REQUIRE it. It would be better to play a few unbalanced games than NO GAMES AT ALL.

    I agree that the rank restriction isnt really helpfull and i would also like to play unbalanced games more then no games, but on the other side you have to think about something aswell. Lets say Square removes the rank restriction and Wolfs den comes alive again. Then you will see plenty of threads just like this where the op complains about unbalanced wolfs den games and how unacceptable it is. Thats just a loose-loose situation for Square and so on, they not gonna fix this.

    Any company that would rather leave something completely broken rather than just unbalanced is a joke of a company. That's a terrible way to think.

    Parts of the game are going to be imbalanced, people are somewhat understanding of that. What people are NOT understanding of is when parts of the game don't work at all or, when they do work, require THREE HUNDRED MINUTE QUEUES. THAT is what Square should be worried about. It would take them a whopping few hours of work to fix it, too. It's not complicated to program a function that only prefers but doesn't require a condition. It would be as simple as some nested if-then logic and some interaction with whatever variable(s) store the list of queued players and their PvP Rank variable. So they wouldn't even be really set back on development time by having to fix it, either.

    Besides, people complain about Frontlines balance all the time. How would this be any different? People will complain no matter WHAT Square does, but that doesn't mean Square should do nothing, does it?
